🇺🇸 Another incredible Minnesota milestone.

Minnesota has now effectively ended veteran homelessness statewide, becoming just the 5th state in the nation to reach this goal.

And “effectively ended” doesn’t mean a veteran will never experience homelessness again. It means Minnesota has built a system capable of quickly identifying veterans who lose housing, connecting them with resources, and moving them into permanent housing faster than new cases are entering the system.

This has been years in the making.

Back in 2015, more than 600 Minnesota veterans were experiencing homelessness on any given day. Through partnerships between state and local governments, veterans organizations, nonprofits, housing providers and communities across Minnesota, that number has steadily fallen.

Earlier this year, Minnesota reported fewer than 150 homeless veterans, the lowest number ever recorded at the time.

Now the entire state has reached the standard for effectively ending veteran homelessness.

Whatever your politics, this is something Minnesotans should be proud of.

If someone raises their hand to serve our country, having a safe place to call home afterward should be the absolute minimum we can provide.

Well done, Minnesota. ❤️🇺🇸

🥇 Minnesota is officially #1 in the nation for election performance!

MIT’s nonpartisan Elections Performance Index ranked Minnesota first in the country for how well our elections are administered, including accessibility, security, voting infrastructure, mail voting and in-person voting. (Minnesota Secretary of State)

And the numbers are something Minnesotans should be proud of:

🗳️ 90.66% voter registration rate
🇺🇸 76.35% voter turnout
📈 Turnout was 11 percentage points higher than the national average
⏱️ Average voting wait time was just 6.7 minutes
✅ All 4 major voting information tools were available to Minnesota voters (Minnesota Secretary of State)

Minnesota has a long tradition of showing up, participating and taking our democracy seriously. Now we have another chance to prove why we’re one of the best states in the country at it.

The 2026 General Election is Tuesday, November 3, and early voting is already underway. Make a plan, bring a friend and VOTE. 🇺🇸🗳️

Minnesota is pushing back to make sure residents aren’t stuck paying the bill for one of the world’s largest companies.

Google is planning a massive data center in Pine Island, and state officials are asking the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission to hold off on approving the proposed agreement with Xcel Energy until there’s clear proof that the costs tied to the project will be paid by the data center, not ordinary Xcel customers.

That matters because Minnesota law requires very large utility customers to cover the costs they create.

The concern is not simply what happens while the data center is operating. The state also wants protections in place so Minnesotans aren’t left paying for expensive infrastructure if Google eventually reduces its energy use or leaves the system altogether.

There’s also a major disagreement over the financial impact. Xcel says the agreement could provide more than $1 billion in benefits, while the state’s analysis estimates it could instead result in roughly $1.1 billion in net costs to customers. Xcel maintains that Google will pay for additional infrastructure and that existing customers will not be burdened by the project.

Data centers can bring investment and economic activity to Minnesota, but they also consume extraordinary amounts of electricity and can require enormous infrastructure investments.

Minnesota’s position here is a pretty reasonable one: if a trillion-dollar company wants to build a huge data center in our state, Minnesota families and businesses shouldn’t be expected to subsidize the electricity infrastructure needed to operate it.

Growth is welcome. Sending the bill to Minnesotans isn’t.

The war in Iran is costing every American more for the things they need to survive. Diesel prices are at record highs in the US and there's no end in sight (the Trump administration’s own data shows they expect high prices to remain through the rest of 2026 and throughout 2027).

Governor Walz has signed an executive order aimed at providing some relief for Minnesota farmers and truckers during this critical harvest time. The order raises the wight limit for their vehicles on state and local roadways, allowing them to transport more product with fewer trips. While not a complete solution, it should help ease the pain a bit for Minnesota farmers who are being hit hard at the most important time of their year.

🏆✈️ **MINNESOTA DOES IT AGAIN: MSP IS THE BEST MEGA AIRPORT IN AMERICA!**

For the **3rd year in a row**, Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport has taken the top spot in J.D. Power’s annual passenger satisfaction rankings for America’s biggest airports.

MSP scored **684 out of 1,000**, beating out Detroit, Phoenix, JFK, Atlanta, Denver, LAX, Chicago O’Hare and the rest of the nation’s mega airports.

And this wasn’t some tiny survey. J.D. Power collected feedback from **24,710 travelers**, looking at things like:

✈️ Ease of getting through the airport
✅ Trust in the airport
🏢 Terminal facilities
🙋 Airport staff
🚗 Getting to and from the airport
🍔 Food, drinks and shopping
🧳 The overall arrival experience

MSP has also continued investing in the experience, including a recently completed **$242 million terminal renovation** updating gate areas, seating, lighting, flooring, signage and other spaces.

Maybe Minnesotans are a little spoiled. 😎

We have incredible parks and lakes, great healthcare and education, a thriving food and brewery scene, major sports and arts communities, some of the best summers anywhere...
..and apparently we know how to run an airport too. 💙

There’s plenty we can argue about in Minnesota, but it’s always fun when something from our state goes head-to-head with the rest of the country and comes out on top.

**So let’s hear it: What’s YOUR favorite thing about living in Minnesota?**

And if you travel a lot, does MSP deserve the #1 ranking? 👇

Minnesota, mark your calendars: cheaper gas is coming.

Starting September 16th, gas stations can legally start selling winter blend fuel. It's cheaper to produce than summer blend, and once stations burn through their remaining summer supply (they can't reorder it), prices should start easing down. Full switchover has to happen by the end of October.

So over the next few weeks, watch those prices at the pump start to drop.

And yes, MAGA will absolutely credit Trump for it, despite him having absolutely nothing to do with it.
