If you would’ve told me that seeing a billboard advertisement while driving on i94 would lead me to taking some of my favorite photos ever, I’d say that’s so silly!!

I’ve been itching to photograph something really colorful & step outside my comfort zone and while I was driving on the highway, I saw a billboard about a Kentucky Derby party at and got so excited. I knew this was my sign (quite literally) and a few weeks later found myself photographing a Wisconsin-Kentucky Derby Party!

Two of my favorite things to photograph are vivid colors & spontaneous moments and boy o boy did this crowd deliver!!!! Feeling so creatively fulfilled & ready for this years wedding season❣️🐴

So many different stylistic choices I could’ve made for this moment, but capturing the ambient feel of it all then firing off some flash film photos felt so right :’)
