***EXTREMELY URGENT...YET WE STILL DON'T HAVE A SINGLE FOSTER APPLICATION FOR THEM. HELP BRADY & MINKA - FOSTER IF YOU MATCH WHAT THEY NEED. SHARE IF YOU DON'T.
Trying to plea at a different time of day today to try to capture different people because we still have no one for Brady & Minka.
Why is it that the only people that have reached out to us with quiet homes that want to help these precious cats live in other states, or halfway across ours?
SE WI - we are saving the animals in YOUR community that the kill shelters here would kill, trying to make YOUR community No Kill - so why does everyone that doesn't live here seem to get it and want to help make it possible, but you don't want to help your own and create it for your own community? We don't get you. At all.
A really sweet supporter commented on our plea from yesterday saying, "these 2 are going to make someone(s) beyond happy!" Yeah...look at them! It should be obvious! So why is it so hard to get the quiet homes our animals need? Our fosters are technically helping the animals we serve, but the good fosters that are on our team, the words we hear on repeat are "fostering was the best thing I ever did with my life" and with that sentiment, they end up adopting.
So again, SE WI, we are looking for one selfless person or couple among all 2-million of you to do what you were put on earth to do - help those in need. The benefit of sharing your life with animals that need you will far exceed anything we mere humans give them.
Look at these two. Brady is on the left (slightly bigger) and Minka is on the right. This photo is so touching we had to show it to you (if you want to see their cute faces and beautiful blue eyes, you can see them on any one of the pleas we've made for a foster for them for the past 2 1/2 weeks). This was taken at their original foster's home. They were waiting for her to get out of the shower because they get so attached to a human that loves and cares for them. Unfortunately, their original foster mom had some serious personal health struggles and she needed to seek extended care away from home, so we had to try to find a foster home that had what they needed for them to continue flourishing like their first foster mom helped them achieve...which wound them up in the foster home they are in now that doesn't want to care for them and asked us 2.5 weeks ago to move them.
These precious little nuggets, who anyone would be blessed to have (not needing to be begged to share their heart and home with them). They don't deserve this upheaval. They deserve someone who recognizes what precious jewels they are and who is looking to their left and their right wondering why no one here has after asking for a foster for them day after day, over and over without answer and says, "they're describing me in what they need" and fills out a foster application. When its right, its always that easy.
Brady & Minka are 11 year old natural siblings (if you couldn't tell). They are the perfect mix of cuddly and playful. They LOVE attention and affection, and as brother and sister do, will try to steal it away from the other sibling if they are getting it. Minka loves to be held, and will lick your face! She also licks her brother's head (which he'll tolerate for a little while). She says its how she shows love and how she "kisses". Brady has to sleep with you at night, often on your pillow (so make room!). Both kitties love laps, but don't worry - if you are an individual applying to foster, whoever doesn't get your lap will know they have to be quicker next time, and will settle for laying next to you and touching you somehow. They love this closeness and relaxing at the end of the day after you get home from work with some coveted couch time to watch some TV together with you.
But don't think because of their age, they just sit around and loaf all day! MPA kitties have energy and vitality - because we feed them what their bodies were designed to eat. Brady and Minka love to tear around the house and chase each other (often getting the zoomies before bed). They love playing with their Da'Bird wand toy with you (especially Minka) and Brady loves playing soccer with his little glitter balls.
We rescued Brady and Minka from a traumatic past - and as such, they are very sensitive and get overwhelmed easily. They don't like loud noises, chaos, or lots of people in their home - all of which can cause them to shut down, and even stop eating. There are homes without that, and that's what we're looking for for them. Every animal deserves to have what they need and want to live their best lives and reach their highest potential, but after what they had to live through, they're extra deserving.
So Brady and Minka continue to seek an angel that has a peaceful, quiet, and calm adult-only home with an individual or couple that enjoy a quiet home life. A home with an older teen (later high school years) may be okay for them if they are very mature and very laid-back and quiet. Brady and Minka are looking for a home where they can be the only animals in it. All of Milwaukee Pets Alive's foster homes must be located in Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine, Ozaukee, and Kenosha counties. (if you live outside these areas, go help an animal in your community! There are animals just like Brady & Minka that need the quiet home you have right in your own back yard. But if you want to specifically help Brady & Minka, share their need with someone you know in our area).
Who is going to be these cats hero when they need you the most? If its you, go to www.milwaukeepetsalive.org/foster and complete and return a foster application right now. We don't have months or weeks to find them a new home. This need is urgent and immediate. We need a foster now.

This need should not be unfulfilled this long. As a result, our people who work so hard for these animals are really tired - and the public doesn't really think about that, or care, but we do about the people who give so generously, day in and day out to our animals (we are ALL volunteers). Therefore, we are reserving the comments section for TAGS OF PEOPLE ONLY (Brady and Minka have a devoted rescue - US - they need a foster HUMAN) and prayers for their perfect foster (the prayers you have been sharing with us are so touching - we want to keep seeing them!). All else will be removed to keep things streamlined and focused.
Share if you aren't who they need. There has to be ONE PERSON in this gigantic community that won't turn away from these precious babies. Help us find them.
