Just over here trying to edit + finish up all these summer shootsā€¦ while reminding myself we still have another couple weeks of ā€œsummerā€ before everything starts looking and feeling like FALL. šŸ‚

So YES thereā€™s still time to squeeze in those end-of-summer sessions. šŸ¤ and I KNOW I have a few reschedules to get in there.

Iā€™m going to do a full summer wrap-up soon, but I just looked at the numbers andā€¦

June + July + August:
132 sessions + 3 weddings. šŸ¤Æ

ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY TWO sessions.

And somehow weā€™re just keeping that momentum rolling right into fall. šŸ„¹

But hereā€™s the part that really gets meā€¦

My first year in business, 12 years ago, I photographed 5 sessions.

Five.

I started as just a girl with a camera who loved taking pictures of peopleā€¦ and year after year, family after family, you guys kept showing up. You trusted me with your babies, your growing families, your milestones, your weddings and all those little in-between moments.

And now here we are.

132 sessions in ONE summer.

That will never not be wild to me.

So yeahā€¦ keep showing up.
Keep growing.
Keep learning.
Keep doing the thing you love.

Just keep on keeping on. šŸ¤šŸ“ø

And maybe drink another coffee because FALL IS COMING. šŸ˜‚šŸ‚

Those tiny fingers wrapped around yours. The sleepy stretches, the little sighs, the way they fit so perfectly against your chest.

They seem like such small things right nowā€¦ but one day, theyā€™ll be the things youā€™d give anything to feel again.

Thatā€™s why I love in-home newborn sessions so much. No rushing. No need for perfection. Just you, your baby, your home, and this brand-new chapter exactly as it is.

Because these are the moments that deserve to be remembered. šŸ¤

Everyone tells me some version of the same thing before a sessionā€¦

ā€œWeā€™re so awkward in photos.ā€
ā€œWe donā€™t know what to do.ā€
ā€œI just want the candid ones.ā€
ā€œMy kids definitely wonā€™t cooperate.ā€ šŸ˜…

But hereā€™s the thing the key to those candid, natural, this actually feels like us photos is connection.

Itā€™s not standing perfectly and smiling at my camera. Itā€™s moving. Playing. Snuggling your babies. Making them laugh. Letting them wander off for a second. Letting the chaos happen instead of trying to stop it.

And itā€™s also trusting your photographer.

This family has trusted me with their memories for YEARS, and I absolutely adore every time I get to be with them. šŸ¤ They know they donā€™t have to perform for me. The kids know me. I know them. And every year, we just pick up where we left off.

That comfort is where the magic happens.

You donā€™t need to know how to pose.
You donā€™t need perfectly behaved kids.
You definitely donā€™t need to ā€œbe good at pictures.ā€

Just come as you are, love on your people, and let me take care of the rest.

August is wrapping upā€¦ and somehow, so is another summer. šŸ„¹ā˜€ļø

I still have one more week and 15 more sessions before this month officially comes to a close, but I canā€™t help but look back already.

The amount of sessions.
The amount of families.
The amount of little faces, growing babies, belly laughs, newborn snuggles, sunsets, chaos, love and memories Iā€™ve had the privilege of capturing this summer is honestly unbelievable. šŸ¤

Life has been LIFE-ING behind the scenes, because thatā€™s just the season Iā€™m in right now. šŸ˜… But through all of it, you guys continue to show up, trust me with your people, recommend me to your friends, come back year after year and allow me to be a tiny part of your stories.

And I hope you know how much that means to me.

This summer was busy. Beautiful. Exhausting. A little chaotic. And filled with SO much love.

15 more sessions to go before we close this chapter and head straight into my favorite kind of chaosā€¦ fall season. šŸ‚šŸ“ø

You all are seriously amazing. Thank you for keeping this little dream of mine going year after year. šŸ¤

But as I sit here editing and looking back at all the beautiful families Iā€™ve had in front of my camera over the last two months, I canā€™t help but feel so incredibly grateful.

So many little moments. Growing bellies, brand new babies, tiny hands, wild kiddos, belly laughs, snuggles, and families just being them. šŸ„¹

How lucky am I that this is my job? That you trust me to step into your lives for a little while and freeze a season thatā€™s going to pass way too quickly.

The editing list may be longggg šŸ˜‚ but my heart is very full.

Thank you for keeping me busy. Thank you for trusting me with your people. And thank you for letting me capture the real, messy, beautiful connection in between it all. šŸ¤
