Do you remember when? And do you wish it still was?

I caught up with Nathalie for her familyโ€™s vacation at the lake. Her great grandfather built this home on this little private island, and they all make it back there annually.

We couldโ€™ve done photos anywhere, but here is where it mattered.

Here is where the memories could be made and remembered โ€” not just photographed.

Sharing some BTS of this sunrise proposal photoshoot in Wells Beach, Maine ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ“ธ

Rachel thought she was up early for a sunrise walk on the beach. Little did she know, Jimmy had organized for some random lady sitting on a beach towel (me) to spring into action the minute he started searching his pocket for that ring box.

So much love in these moments. Literally jumping from joy + happiness in some of these photos ๐Ÿฅน Kangaโ€™s parents are getting married!!! ๐Ÿพ

Rachel thought she was up early for a sunrise walk on the beach. Little did she know, Jimmy had organized for some random lady sitting on a beach towel (me) to spring into action the minute he started searching his pocket for that ring box.

From sun up to sundown โ€” a day filled with the best parts of Montana, and photos to remember it by (film + digital)

The best way to visit a place is like a local.

When you book me, youโ€™re booking your own personal tour guide.

One that knows where to go, knows what the light does in Paradise Valley at 7pm, can point you to the best outfitters in town, and someone that can let the place lead our photos to maximize your time and experience.

Jen & Chris visited for the first time from the east coast. We spent our morning riding through the valley on horseback, and had a run in with some cattle on the way. And later met back up at my favorite lake for a peaceful evening fishing, playing cards and taking in the mountains as they turned fiery pink. And of course, ended at Old Saloon for some drinks and pool ๐ŸŽฑ

Having photos done should add to your experience, not steal your time from it ๐Ÿซถ

Hereโ€™s how to shoot real documentary style engagement photos:

Do something intentional. Donโ€™t just show up to a random field empty handed. Thereโ€™s only so much you can do in that scenario without having to be posed.

Pick a place thoughtfully. Choose activities intentionally. Allow yourselves to spend quality time together, and let me do the rest.

Youโ€™re less focused on a camera, and more focused on whatever the experience is.

Went for an ice cream date with Katy & Jared. Katy brought the cutest little radio, we popped champagne and watched the sky turn pink. Flat tire and all, it was still a perfect night ๐ŸคŽ
