***PACIFIC BULLDOGGER UPDATE***
It’s been awhile since we’ve given an update to our short term rental in Pacific, Missouri so I wanted to take a few minutes to do so.
First and foremost, Rhea and I want to THANK all the folks who have given our place a try this first year for their short term rental needs while attending a Show at Purina Farms! We weren’t expecting too much considering it’s our first year and many people plan a year or so out with their accommodations. We still get people asking questions about our place and we’re always more than happy to talk about it!
The update I wanted to share was the work we’ve had done to the garage area of our rental. As most of you know from previous posts, the one car garage was not going to work for cars to be parked as the home’s footprint was too small for most of the large cars we drive today. We converted that space to a Dog Room where the walls were insulated and a mini-split air conditioning and heating unit was installed.
We added additional lighting to the ceiling in order to illuminate it for those wanting to trim and/or groom their dogs in the garage. The original lighting was not enough in our opinion and made the space dark, like a garage normally is.
We also insulated the actual garage door as well. While the room was fully insulated, the summers and winters in Pacific can get extreme on both sides of the temperature gauge, and while the garage never got boiling hot, we wanted to conserve every bit of coolness when the ac unit was on for the dogs.
And lastly, for those that have stayed at our rental thus far, one of the parts of the house that bothered Rhea and I was the actual door leading into the garage and the door leading to backyard could never be opened at the same time. Which made it difficult for those wanting to exercise their dogs as you had to open one door, close the door, then open the next door for the dogs to run in and out. We also felt it was safer as a whole to have the door leading to the garage open out in case of an emergency.
We still have plans on improving more things in the house, even though it’s a brand new rebuild. We want to ensure the ease and comfort for our guests and their dogs when staying at our place.
We’re grateful that many of the weekends in 2027 are slowly booking up with National Specialties leading the way. We’d love to have you consider our house when coming to Purina Farms. Please understand that Rhea and I do not run the day-to-day logistics at our rental so we get super excited when we’re told by YOU that you’re staying at our place.
With that being said, PLEASE use the link below when booking to save on extra fees. While you can find our place on sites like Airbnb and VRBO, you’ll save some money on administrative fees by using our property management’s direct link for our rental.
