Rhea and I spent 5 days in Tampa, Florida for the Sunshine State Cluster, my first time back in about 5 years. From what I had remembered from past visits held true this past weekend with deep competition in many of their Breeds.
One thing that was vastly different than when I last visited, was how warm the Show building was in comparison to the grooming building. While I understand that many folks keep their dogs in the building and it’s imperative that those dogs stay cool throughout the day and night, I wish the show building was cooler and more comfortable for those jam packed in the aisles.
One thing I didn’t remember from years past and was a pleasant surprise was the toilet paper, and I wish I was kidding. Tampa shows have the best toilet paper in the country and I’m certainly willing to fight someone over it 😂 The more I thought about it, and I thought about it a lot, you can’t spell Tampa without TP.

In all seriousness, it was great fun to see so many friends that I only get to see during Orlando Week. While I don’t make many trips down to the Southeast, it’s refreshing to see so many friendly faces and welcoming smiles while we were down there.
This recap would’ve come yesterday had Rhea and I not been sprinting through Atlanta airport for our 20 minute layover! We were grateful to make our flight as we would’ve otherwise been stuck in Atlanta and then Seattle for 6 plus hours. The joys of travel!
We’re off for 2 weeks before we head to Dallas, Texas to celebrate the Fourth of July and the Lone Star State Classic Dog Shows!
