I took this photo of Michael and Diana way back at press conference for The Wiz. It is only surviving celeb pic from my NYC "street photo" days. All the John Lennon, Woody Allen, so many other great shots - gone - destroyed in the fire. New book will tell the whole story.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO if you were me?

I have been a photographer for 50+ years. I lost 30 years of my life's work in a nasty raging Malibu fire that almost took me with it. After crying about it for a few months, I decided to pick myself up - or rise from the ashes, as it were. It took years, but I re-created my favorite works from memory and soul.

I compiled them with new works, and created a book. I entitled it IMAGES ... From the Ashes - a photographer's resolve, and I am raising funds for it as a Project on Kickstarter.com.
