Your kids will never be this little again.
And your parents will never be this young again either.

Please don’t wait for the “right time” to take the photo.

The truth is, the images you (and your children) will treasure most one day probably won’t be the perfectly posed ones. They’ll be the ones with grandma’s hand on their cheek. Grandpa making them laugh. Three generations together in a frame…This will be increasingly more priceless.

That’s why I designed this set the way I did.

An oversized watering can pouring florals from above. Giant blooms surrounding your family. Soft layers of texture and color everywhere you look. It feels whimsical, immersive, and larger than life… but still somehow intimate once your family steps into it.

As gorgeous as this is, the real magic is what happens inside it.

The hugs. The chaos. The laughter. The way your child reaches for grandma.

Those are the moments you’ll miss one day.

This set is only here through the end of June… and then we strike it forever! Grab one of the remaining spots!

Book the photos. Bring the grandparents. Your future self will be so grateful you did 🤍

What it feels like to shoot at Studio PRK…

A little messy
A little chaotic
A lot of “wait, one more tweak”

And then… it all comes together.

This space has given me the freedom to create the way I’ve always wanted to. Slower. More intentional. More me.

And right now, it’s holding one of my favorite sets I’ve ever built.

Sessions start this week 🤍
Added a few new dates and times because you guys nearly sold it out already

If you’ve been thinking about it, this is your sign to come in for a memorable session:

We’re building something magical this spring… ✨🌼

Think larger than life.
Playful. Whimsical.
Like your kids stepped right into a storybook moment.

This set is being engineered from the ground up and I can’t wait for you to see it come to life. (Swipe to the end to see a teaser of the real life version we’re making.)

If you want first access to all the details (and first dibs before it sells out)… you’ll want to be on the list.

There was a time when I only knew how to move forward by chasing.

The next goal.
The next milestone.
The next version of “better.”

Better school. Better job. Bigger business. More income. More growth.

And for a long time, that chase worked. It built a life I’m proud of. It shaped who I am. It gave me opportunities I once dreamed about.

But a couple years ago, something shifted.

I realized… I wasn’t chasing because I needed to anymore.
I was chasing because I didn’t know how to stop.

So I did something that felt unfamiliar, uncomfortable at first.
I stopped chasing.

And in that stillness, I found something I hadn’t made space for before… contentment.

Not complacency. Not settling.
Just a quiet confidence in what I had already built.

That space opened up parts of my life I didn’t even realize were waiting.
I learned a new language - Korean.
I learned a new sport - tennis.
I spent more time just being, instead of constantly becoming.

And then life shifted again.

My dad was diagnosed with cancer.

All of a sudden, that space I had created mattered more than anything.
It gave me the time to sit with him.
To show up for chemo.
To be present in ways I wouldn’t have been able to if I was still chasing everything else.

Now, with his cancer returning, I feel another shift. Another recalibration.

Not away from ambition, but toward intention.

I’m not asking “what more can I build?”
I’m asking “what matters most right now?”

And right now, it’s time.
Time with my dad. Time with my kids.
Time where I’m fully there.

So I’m choosing to be more selective with my work this year.
Fewer shoots, but more meaningful ones.
Less volume, more impact.

If you’ve been wanting to shoot with me, my upcoming spring minis will be one of the few opportunities this year.

I’m dreaming up something really special for it. Something that feels aligned with this season I’m in.

Because maybe the question isn’t when the chasing stops.

Maybe it’s when you realize you don’t have to chase to be proud of where you are.

So this year, I’m choosing fewer, more meaningful yeses.

If you’ve been wanting to create something together, my spring minis will be one of your few opportunities:

Celebrating Easter with this little bunny, who just turned one over at !

This is the fourth 1st birthday I’ve had the honor of documenting for this beautiful family.

One thing that amuses me every time I photograph them is how much truth there is to birth order traits. For example, the eldest is most cautious, overachiever, and a rule follower. Second tends to be the free spirit… but I think a second as the youngest is different than a second as a middle child.

I’ve never looked into the traits of a fourth child but Colbie didn’t have to lift a finger to her cake. Her sisters loved feeding her and helping her eat her cake.

What are the most interesting birth order traits you’ve observed?

Last month, my dad’s quarterly CT scans showed that his mass was growing again. PET scans suggest that there’s level of cancerous activity and that he would need a biopsy to be certain.

But the earliest appointment they could get him was 8 weeks out. Last time, his mass grew 12 cm in just 3 months so the thought of 2 months is worrisome.

I contacted his doctor weekly for something earlier and we were finally able to get in yesterday. Now we wait for the results to see what’s next. 🙏🏽

His previous treatment was chemo so they can’t do that again. The new mass is in a more accessible place than last time so hoping it’s removable this time! 🤞🏽

But regardless, I’m having my parents come in for updated portraits before he begins any treatment again. These were taken when he just began his first round of chemo 2 years ago. What a journey it has been. I’m grateful for the photos I have that has documented all the changes we’ve been through.

To keep the documentation going, this spring, I’m offering timeless mini sessions at my home studio and a really fun and elaborate set at .oc!

Booking starts Monday so get on the list for first dibs - carolinetran.myflodesk.com/bsnnzb8f6f

What if you could make anyone look amazing in photos… even the people who swear they’re awkward in front of a camera?

Most clients aren’t models. They show up stiff, unsure what to do with their hands, and convinced they’re “not photogenic.”

The difference between an average portrait and a powerful one isn’t the subject. It’s how you guide them.

This Friday, I’m hosting a posing workshop in Huntington Beach, where I’ll show you exactly how I pose and direct people so that they look natural, confident, and connected. These are the same techniques I use with every type of client, even the most camera shy.

If I can make my stoic parents look this good, imagine what you’ll be able to do for your clients.

Here’s what makes this workshop special:

• Learn my step-by-step posing approach to make anyone look natural and flattering
• Hands on shooting so you can practice directing and posing in real time
• Shoot inside my new studio .oc
• Try out cameras with gear available to borrow for the day
• Get $100 gift card to
• Walk away with techniques you can use immediately with your own clients
