I’m still in awe! In March, 2025, it’s wild to think BGST started with a spontaneous post to meet up for our first photo walk in Leimert Park. 📷

I was so tired of walking around with my camera by myself and felt a deep need to connect with other creatives and WOC photographers more often.

I am so incredibly glad I made a post because BGST has grown beyond my wildest dreams! “𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐆𝐢𝐫𝐥 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨 𝐃𝐚𝐲” was such a beautiful reminder of how important it is for women to celebrate one another.

Our one-year anniversary was a total hit!
I can’t thank this community enough; everyone was so creative and stunning. A huge special thanks to for capturing these gorgeous headshots of everyone. It was truly a day to remember! ✨📸

There is nothing like the energy of a group of young girls realizing they have the power to capture the world. I was absolutely honored to teach camera basics to the young girls in partnership with .ms

The girls loved getting their hands on my Canon camera, and honestly, they might be better photographers than me already. 😅 It was a joy to answer their questions—curiosity is the first step to creativity!

Hosting this during Women’s History Month adds such a powerful layer of mentorship and legacy to the day.

Capturing the Culture 365✊🏾📸

Our Bronzeville walk was a beautiful reminder of why we do what we do. From the legacy of Biddy Mason to the Monuments exhibit at MOCA (thank you for the tickets!), the energy was pure magic.

Special thanks to Dr. Gowda for teaching us how art and medicine help us remember our roots.
