We're Steve and Bernadette, a husband and wife from Leesburg, Virginia, documenting weddings in DC and everywhere else. It is more than a committed relationship with a 50% chance of failure. We believe that a great marriage will change the world by its impact on everyone that comes into contact with it. This is important. We often get asked what our favorite aspect of photographing a wedding is, a

nd we always say that we love what it does for our own marriage. We are blessed to witness and document stories of couples at their very best. It inspires our own relationship by reminding us why we are on this crazy adventure together. Our goal is to deliver that same inspiration to all of our couples. We want to give every couple their own unique story that captures exactly why they showed up to their wedding so that they have a lasting reminder to always come back to whether things are going well or whether things are incredibly hard. We want every couple to see how they looked at each other. We want every couple to see how they laughed or how they cried. We want them to remember how they felt and never forget. Marriage is THE adventure, and a wedding is the start. Remembering the start with all of its value and meaning is lasting inspiration.

We had such an incredible honor to photograph one of our longstanding team members, Bethanie, as she married the love of her life, David. Bethanie has assisted photographing many of our weddings over the last five years, and it was so much fun to celebrate her on the other side of the camera.

It's always a joy to get a front row seat to our couples as they start their marriages, but this one felt so close to home. Wishing these two an incredible life together.

Wedding speeches from the heart are such a gift to the couple, but also to everyone in the room. We have been moved to tears and laughter so many times over the years while we listen behind the lens. A good wedding speech brings everybody in the room to a better place. Zoe and Mitchell's reception was a perfect example of this.

If you want real, heartfelt, authentic, emotional moments from your wedding photography then you should be looking for one thing above all else with your photographer...

Trust.

Trust is the gateway to real moments.

Trust doesn't happen overnight. It doesn't happen apart from empathy. It doesn't happen apart from really paying attention. It doesn't happen apart from slowing down, being patient, and knowing the appropriate time. It's never forced.

Trust invites closeness and gives permission to real moments. We wouldn't have been able to quietly sit at the feet of Holly reading a letter from her soon-to-be-husband, Jamie, as tears streamed down her face apart from trust.

It's often the intangibles that make the biggest difference...

Good stories are magnetic. We can't get enough of them.

We'll stop the scroll. We'll pay attention. We'll hold our breath. We'll binge watch just one more. We'll share it with somebody else.

When we encounter a good story it captivates our soul.

When a wedding day is grounded in the things that really matter it transcends into a good story. It becomes something bigger than just a fancy event.

A wedding tells the good story of the start of a lifelong adventure, the legacy of the people and relationships that came before us, the joy and love that reminds others why a good marriage is worth fighting for, the victory over surviving years of dating long distance, enduring military deployments, surviving medical school, or overcoming the loss of a loved one together.

A wedding is the story of the goodness of humanity on full display. All you have to do is slow down, be present, and see it. Let's do just that.

Heading into 2025 full speed!

We're starting the year off by launching a complete redesign and overhaul of our website at anendlesspursuit.com (link in profile!)

We've spent the last 18 months in an ongoing conversation about where we've been, where we're going, and who we're serving. We spent the final months of 2024 to bring those conversations to the forefront of our brand. We could not be more excited to launch our new site and share with a deeper clarity about our passion for documenting great stories.

Thank you to the amazing community of support from our wonderful mentors, our community of photographers, and our incredible couples.

Lisa and Brett’s wedding was a day overflowing with joy, faith, and the kind of love that pulls everyone closer. The wonder in Brett’s eyes as he saw Lisa walking toward him, radiant and glowing, set the tone for a day that felt sacred. There was contagious laughter as the unity candle refused to light, there were heartfelt prayers shared between brothers and lifelong friends, and there were tears shimmering in their parents’ eyes during the toasts. Every moment felt like something that was generously being shared, woven together by the unwavering support of a community. What a gift to be surrounded by so much love and hope to begin a marriage.

It’s days like these—unscripted, and filled with so much heart—that make us grateful for the work we do and so excited for our couples of 2025.

Kids breathe so much life into wedding days.

They are all in.

There is something that feels profoundly human and good, even when it's pure hilarious chaos, like this sequence of photos from Dakota and Ben's wedding where the boys played a game shoving each other over the Co****le boards. That second photo is a new favorite!

Sometimes a wedding day can feel a bit too in the clouds, but seeing a day through the view of kids is always so grounding.

We love documenting raw humanity on wedding days and and preserving it. If you're on the fence about having kids at your own wedding, we're formally casting in our vote.

Snow day!

Our kids extend their Christmas break by at least two days (dreams do come true).

Our Norwegian dog is in his happy environment.

And I believe it's a good excuse to make coffee more than once a day, and let the work day feel slow.

We make family photos not just for our you as our couple, but also for the child. The one who wants to someday see how you looked when you held them. The one who wants to see you when you were a little younger, a little unprepared, but all in on their family. What a gift to document this life.

15 years, today. I don't know if we had any idea what we were getting ourselves into when we said our vows and put the rings on. So what would we say to ourselves if we could time travel back to that rainy October day in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania?

Be patient. You're different people from different upbringings and experiences. So much of the nuance of those past experiences will reveal itself over time as you live life together, raise kids, start a business, go through financial stress, navigate holiday plans, deal with family drama, grieve the loss of friends, help the mental health of loved ones, and so much more. When you don't always understand each other, that's ok. Love each other and pursue each other first. Do it relentlessly. The understanding sometimes comes second.

Be grateful and enjoy this journey. There will be a thousand things to look forward to in the future. It's easy to think life will be amazing once your kids are just a little bit older, once you have a certain amount in the bank, once your business hits the next milestone, once you take that trip to Europe, or once you're not as busy as today. The truth is you will always be busy, you will always be working on something, and you will always be thinking about tomorrow. But today is where you are. You have such a gift to live life with this amazing person. Remember that. Slow down. Realize the blessing of right now and let yourself enjoy it. It all goes by fast.

15 years will feel like a lifetime. 15 years will go by in the blink of an eye. 15 years grateful today.

“lol. That is a GREAT story!” was what Bernadette texted me back when I sent her a panic text that our ceremony was delayed. Her words gave pause and I immediately started laughing.
