Today, November 13, is World Kindness Day.
With the heaviness and division in the world today, it seems everywhere we turn there are people being divided. I mean...name the topic and there will be people who disagree. We spend so much time behind our keyboards and seem to be losing what makes humanity such a beautiful thing.
Compassion. Empathy. Generosity.
On World Kindess Day, I wanted to encourage you all to take a moment and do something kind. Not for likes on social media, but for your heart.
It costs nothing to be kind.
Open a door for someone who is behind you.
Return the shopping cart for a mom who is juggling a tired toddler and a load of groceries.
Visit a lonely neighbor.
Show someone appreciation that often goes unacknowledged.
Volunteer.
And in this current climate, show kindess to those you disagree with. We are all human with unique stories and experiences that make us who we are. And we all deserve to be treated with dignity. Change the world by starting small and leading by example.
Who knows...your kindness can be what changes a person's entire day, and, if you ask me, that is a pretty darn powerful thing.
