From city alderman who don’t respond or give constituents assistance
To ignoring city residents who largely reject things like having a data center built as she is wined and dined overseas by the man who wants to build the data center
To state government who is actively holding the city of Saint Louis hostage removing our control over the local police department - one of only two cities in the country not premier control over our own law enforcement.
To federal representatives who do not listening or act on issues that matter for their constituents, instead bending the knee like cowards to an administration that has been actively consolidating power away from institutions meant to serve and protect us.
No representative who supports the reauthorization of FISA to circumvent the 4th amendment or secret police forces or granting US military benefits to IDF soldiers, or this costly and embarrassing war in Iran should set foot in office again. They have failed the people.

The single day General Strike took place on May Day - May 1st - on International Workers Day. In Saint Louis, former Congresswoman Cori Bush challenged political leaders with a simple question: "Why sign up for a job if you're not willing to fight." A problem the Third Way Democrat Establishment has had since they started to move away from core New Deal values. We may not be able to vote our way out of this, but that doesn't make the vote any less important. Without real selfless leadership in position to take charge, no resistance or revolution will last. Changes are happening faster than current leadership is willing to address, and it's you and I who are paying the price.

Charlie Kirk was shot at 12:20pm on September 10th, 2025. Approximately 1200 miles away at the exact same time, I took this photo on the steps of the Missouri Capitol Building during a protest demanding an end to the illegal special session attempting to redraw the congressional district maps at Trump’s request.
This is the moment I would like to remind you that Charlie Kirk said two very specific things that are relevant here:
1) Gun deaths are the price we pay for liberty. This would include his death. Of course I’m sure that he meant those that happen to anyone but him.
2) and also that empathy is a new age “woke” thing that is damaging to our society. So if you feel remorse, same, compassion, anger, or generally any form of empathy towards what happened to Charlie Kirk you are spitting in his face because he felt that empathy was devil and damaging to our country and you should stop feeling that way immediately.
As someone who lost his father to gun violence at a young age, I understand what his kids are going to go through, and it’s tragic, but there is a lesson to be learned here: violent rhetoric and smug dismissal of issues in this country has consequences. This is a man whose rhetoric put people in marginalized communities at risk. He made the world less safe for others, and, consequently, less safe for himself. Do not expect others to feel anything but maybe relief that this man is gone.

9-10-2025 Jefferson City, MO - State Capitol Building:
Inside the Rotunda of the state Capitol Building you will find a wall with a stone header engraved with the words “Ideas Control the World.” Indeed they do, and our current elected representatives use that concept for self enrichment and identity politics to maintain power for themselves and their cohorts.
I was there documenting the protest against against Governor Kehoe’s August 29th call for special session of the Generals Assembly to redraw the congressional district maps of the state of Missouri at the behest of Trump despite this action violating the Missouri constitution. Specifically RSMo Section III Section 3 subsection 5 - where drawing of maps may only happen within 6 months after census numbers are reported, or after maps are struck down by the court. There is no referendum permitted.
The irony was not lost on me, this day, as I wandered the capitol grounds documenting the protest, that I passed this woman, dressed as a Handmaiden from the story “The Handmaid’s Tale” at the exact moment I was passing this inscription on this wall. The symbolism of the situation was palpable, and she was gracious enough to pose for me briefly.

800 feet apart and you can see the severity of the damages along the Delmar Divide. This only highlights the decades of red lining and wealth extraction from marginalized communities. Both of these neighborhoods were directly in the path of the tornado, but the homes to the north were already in disrepair and thus they crumbled, while the homes to the south had been maintained, updated, and were more structurally sound.

Took a break from recovery to get caught up on some edits and threw together this short video of the May Tornado damage in Saint Louis today. This is the area immediately to the north and south of Delmar Blvd at Kingshighway where the so-called Delmar Divide is incredibly apparent. Many of these homes you see damaged are owned by LLCs, and you can bet that the ones that aren't will be bought for pennies by those same "investors" which will only serve to further gentrify and displace local residents.

This is standing up against the rise of and movements within our government. The parallels in actions when compared to 1930s Germany are disturbing and those who deny it are ignorants of history at best and apologists or perpetrators at worst. The time to stand up is now.
