I love this girl so much! I can’t believe I didn’t put up a post on her birthday - but I know she understands things get away from me sometimes. She is brave, strong, loyal, smart, loving, and more. I couldn’t be prouder of her! The first pic she looks amazing - I snapped it 4 days after Max was born prematurely, after weeks of bedrest and months of pain and worry. Through it all, she remained a super Mama Bear, loving wife, and supporter of everyone in her world. I’m happy to report Max was out of the NICU much sooner than expected - Izzy loves her new baby brother with all her heart - and Courtney & Corbin continue to be the most rockstar parents! There aren’t enough words to express my admiration and love for them.

For anyone who is struggling to add a child to their world, please know you are not alone and that I’m sending prayers on your behalf every day. Keep faith. 💕

Happy Birthday Week,
Tyler! 👑 So many highs and lows this past year - and you navigated them all beautifully! The fun of BJ & Jenna’s wedding (so much so you and Courtney literally bruised your legs with tambourines!)…Finally getting to be home for holidays, fun with Izzy, weddings, tailgates, and more…Traveling/working/enjoying life with Gray…And priceless time with Grandma Mary.

Thank you for helping me (still) get through rough times, with understanding, shared tears, and humor. I’ll never forget Christmas morning with you in Mom’s “classic” starched holiday blouse, pulling her cinnamon rolls out of the oven! 😭 You had me laughing and crying at the same time!

My favorite daughter-in-law made me the most special Christmas gift! created these beautiful mittens from one of my dear Mom’s sweaters! 💜
Little did she know that one of my most treasured things is a warm pair of red mittens, shaped just like these, that Mom sent me my first winter in Chicago after college. She was worried about me being cold walking around the city, to/from audit clients. I love this new pair so much!! I can’t get over Jenna’s big heart and talent! 💜

So excited for these two as they celebrate their love with a beautiful New Year’s Eve wedding! I’ve been looking forward to this for so long! Sadly, Covid changed my plans with me doing my best to resist, and I’m isolated, waiting for any photos or videos that I’m sent or I find on social media. Katelyn & Matt deserve a truly happy ever-after! I can’t wait to share a toast in person! Cheers!!

I finally have it together enough to post about losing my dear Mom last week. We’ve been grieving for over 5 years as she progressed along Alzheimer’s cruel path. But this last week has been so hard. At least we had time to tell her how much we loved her and appreciated her; and we all knew she adored us.

We talked by phone nearly every night. I always thanked her for creating a home where her kids and grandkids loved to be; and that she made it so her grandkids would become lifelong friends. I hoped at least her subconscious would keep those thoughts close as she went to sleep each night.

There are no words to describe the void in my life. The cruel irony is that I need her more than ever right now.

I’ve always admired and envied her unshakeable faith, and hope mine will grow. After my Dad passed, one of my kids asked Mom how she was doing, and wasn’t she terribly sad? She said “Well I have my faith. I know where he is; and I know where I’m going.” And now she’s there. ❤️
