Okay but rainy wedding days that clear up just in time for sunset portraits?? ELITE 😍✨

Anna and Jaxon spent most of their wedding day tucked inside The Garment Factory while the rain rolled through, and honestly it made the whole day feel so cozy and relaxed. Then right after the ceremony, the clouds cleared and we got the prettiest golden light for portraits outside 🤍

Sarah and Brian’s session at Eagle Creek was SO much fun between the sunshine, all the laughter, and the fact that the geese at Lilly Lake apparently decided they wanted to be included too! 😅 Honestly though? It made the whole session even more memorable!!

Wedding planning tip coming in hot!!

One thing I always recommend to my couples is building about 10 extra minutes into the timeline right after the ceremony for a private moment together.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And trust me… couples ALWAYS end up loving this part of the day!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s the first time you really get to pause, breathe, and soak in the fact that you’re actually married!! Before cocktail hour starts and everyone wants to hug you, congratulate you, and celebrate with you!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A lot of couples think they’ll want to jump straight into everything after the ceremony, but this little quiet pocket of time almost always becomes one of their favorite memories from the day.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And as a bonus? We usually get some really sweet just-married photos during it too ✨

One of the funny things about being a wedding photographer and a mom is how different my weekends can look!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Some Saturdays I’m at a beautiful wedding venue capturing vows, first dances, and a packed dance floor. Other weekends I’m cheering at one of the kids’ activities, making snacks, or helping someone find the shoe that was definitely right here five minutes ago. 😄
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I genuinely love both sides of it though. My job lets me document some of the biggest moments in people’s lives, and then I get to come home and experience all the everyday moments with my own little crew.

And honestly… those everyday moments are pretty special too!

One of my favorite things about weddings is that no two days ever feel exactly the same!
