When was the last time you had family photos taken?

Not just a quick snapshot but real, meaningful images that capture this season of your life with your kids.

There is something truly magical about pressing pause for just a little while and documenting the way your children are right now. Their little expressions, the way they hold your hand, the laughter that doesn’t stay this small forever.

I always remind my families, we are not going for perfection. We are going for now.

Yes, we choose beautiful light. Yes, we plan around happy, well fed kids. Yes, we pick locations and timing that give us the best chance for a smooth, easy experience. But the real magic will never come from perfect conditions.

It comes from the love you have for your children and the bond you share with them.

The snuggles. The movement. The giggles. The in between moments you don’t even realize you will miss one day.

That is what I am always chasing with my camera.

This was a newborn session I photographed recently.

I wrapped them in this soft white gauze and placed her with her baby, but honestly… nothing about that moment needed much from me. The pose was simple. What made it was her.

The way she looked down at him, you can’t direct that. You can’t fake it. It’s just there 🥹

He was just under two weeks old. So tiny, still so new to the world, and completely wrapped up in her, his mom.

My boys are 6 and 9 now, and I’ve been getting all those “on this day” memories lately from Amazon Photos. Baby faces, little voices, moments I swear weren’t that long ago. And somehow they were.

My grandmother always used to say, “You’ll know your children longer as adults than you will as children.” That one hits differently now.

With Mother’s Day this week, I’m just sitting with all of it. The newborn days, the chaos, the growing, the remembering, and still holding tight and enjoying them as children 💙💙.

It really does go fast.

So hold them close. Even the moments that feel small 🤍

There is something so tender about newborn sessions.

A brand new baby, still so small and new to the world, and then watching the way a big sister looks at her… like this is the most important moment she’s ever been part of.

These are the kinds of sessions where everything slows down. We take our time, follow baby’s lead, and let the moments unfold naturally in the studio.

It is always such an honor to photograph this season for families, because it changes so quickly and yet feels so unforgettable while you are in it.

There is just something about family photos on the beach ✨

The kids are free to run and play. No pressure to sit still. Everyone just feels more relaxed, and it shows in the photos.

I make it a point to have my own family photographed at the beach every year, and they are some of my absolute favorites. They feel real. When I look at them, I can remember exactly how that season of life felt.

If you have been meaning to update your family photos, this is such an easy and fun way to do it. These are short sessions, so it is not a huge time commitment. The family gets all dressed up, we capture beautiful, natural moments, and hopefully go grab dinner some where and make it a whole experience that will be one of your favorites and captured forever.

Yesterday, I got in front of the camera at my own headshot day.

And I made a conscious decision not to smooth my skin or erase every line.

Because professional does not mean perfect.

We are living in a time where AI can generate a flawless headshot in seconds. It can reshape your jaw. Blur your pores. Lift your eyes.

But it cannot capture your presence.
It cannot capture the way you hold yourself when you are confident in your work.
It cannot capture you.

When I photograph headshots in my Huntingdon Valley studio, I absolutely retouch. I remove distractions. I soften what pulls attention away.

But I do not erase who you are.
Your experience. Your strength. Your story. Those lines around your eyes. They matter.

That is why I host monthly Headshot Days.
Not just to update your LinkedIn photo.
