I really do think one of the sweetest parts of this job is when families keep coming back. Bc what do you mean I get to watch your first babies get bigger AND watch you add new little people to the crew?! 🥹 Come on.

And THIS family.. They deserve an actual medal for still trusting me after a certain incident that was equal parts hilarious and wildly embarrassing for me 😂 Eeekk.. We’ll save that story for another day..🤭

BUT I have been referring to this as my redemption session and I think it’s safe to say???

REDEEMED.

Because holy cute 😭

Lately, it feels like I’ve been surrounded by so much heavy news, and it’s had me thinking...

I want to start a new tradition here.

I don’t know what it’ll look like yet. Maybe it’ll happen every week. Maybe once a month. Maybe just every so often when someone is on my heart. No pressure, no schedule...just a little corner of the internet dedicated to celebrating good people.

And today feels like the perfect day to start.

These photos capture so beautifully why this mama is my very first pick.

I don’t even know if she realizes it, but the very first time we spoke, I walked away feeling connected to every word she said. It genuinely felt like one of those moments of divine intervention...like God had placed someone in my path that I needed, even if I didn’t fully understand why yet.

You’d probably assume we’re lifelong friends, but the truth is...I’m still just getting to know her.

And yet, from a distance and through every interaction we’ve had, she continually inspires me to be a better mom and a better person.

I watch the way she nurtures her family. The way her faith anchors everything she does. The way she pours into her community with quiet consistency. She has a way of living that reminds me to slow down, love my people well, and lead with more intention.

I think we’re all way too quick to keep those thoughts to ourselves.

We notice kindness.
We admire character.
We’re inspired by people every single day...
..and then we never tell them.

So here’s my encouragement to everyone following along:

If you like someone’s shirt...tell them.
If your barista made you a kick ass coffee ...tell them.
If the mom next to you at the soccer field made you feel welcome...tell her.
If someone’s kindness, work ethic, or heart inspires you...tell them.

The world has enough criticism. Let’s get a little louder about the good.

And to this sweet mama...thank you for inspiring me in ways you probably don’t even realize. 🫶🏼

There has been something pulling at my heart lately...

The more I photograph families, the more I find myself leaning into sessions that freeze life in real time.

Summer evenings at the farm eating melting ice cream. Bare feet in the grass. The sticky fingers, the belly laughs, the way they run ahead without looking back because they know you’re right behind them.

Don’t get me wrong... I will always love creating those beautiful portraits that deserve a place on the walls of your home. They matter, and they always will.

But years from now, when your children are grown and you’re flipping through photo albums together, I don’t think you’ll only want to remember what everyone looked like.

I think you’ll want to remember what life felt like.

The places you spent your evenings.
The traditions you never realized would become memories.
The way they held your hand.
The sound of their laughter.
The season you were in.

Because childhood isn’t made up of perfectly posed moments. It’s made up of ordinary days that become extraordinary simply because they’re gone.

My hope is to create photographs that do more than document your family. I want them to transport you back. To freeze the joy, the movement, the connection, and the feeling of this season so vividly that years from now, you’ll remember exactly what it was like to live it.

Not just photos for your walls...

Photos that become part of your family’s story. 🤍

The first time I met this sweet family was for their Christmas mini turned pregnancy announcement photos. And from the moment I met their firstborn, I had a feeling we were going to be buddies.

He reminded me so much of my own boys..the big personality, the curiosity, the way they make you earn their trust just a little before letting you into their world.

So when I showed up for their newborn session, I already knew one thing—we were going to let him lead the way.

I’ve learned that the photos I treasure most are almost never the ones I thought I was there to take.

This morning wasn’t rushed. It was slow, sweet, and full of the little rhythms that make up life with a newborn. And I left with a gallery that doesn’t just look sweet.. it *feels* like them!
