Dream Lake lived up to its name. The hike to get there wasn't exactly a dream, but every step was worth it once this view came into sight. The Rocky Mountains have a way of reminding you that the best rewards often come after the toughest climbs. Here's my photograph of beautiful Dream Lake in Colorado.

Part of the wildlife photography I captured while exploring Rocky Mountain National Park was this Steller’s Jay that was bouncing from rocks to tree limbs along the trail toward Emerald Lake. A beautiful little reminder that there’s wildlife around every corner!

A recent trip to Colorado and the Rocky Mountains was truly unforgettable! This photograph was taken along the trail to the 3 Lakes in the Bear Lake area. The mountain views were a sight to behold and a perfect reminder of just how beautiful Colorado really is. More from the trip to come!

One of my favorite places to photograph is the beautiful Rainbow Row in Charleston. The yellow, green, light blue, and pink historic homes create one of the most colorful and iconic streets in the city. The architecture, rich history, and vibrant colors make it a wonderful place to take a walk and experience the charm of the Lowcountry.

If you enjoyed the photographs I captured in Charleston, you can visit my Jeremy Putnam Photography SmugMug page and browse the Charleston collection in my Low Country album.

Thank you all for the kind messages, support, and encouragement. It truly means a lot to me, and I'm grateful that so many of you enjoy seeing the places I love to photograph.

During my visit to Charleston, I couldn't resist photographing the incredible Angel Oak Tree, first as a whole, to capture its immense presence, and then by looking up into its canopy, where the twisting limbs, intricate patterns, and dancing light told a different story. Sometimes a single tree is both a landscape and an abstract work of art, depending on where you stand. I hope these images share a little of the awe I felt beneath this extraordinary living masterpiece.

I've been away from social media for a while as my family and I navigated the loss of my father. It has been a difficult season filled with reflection, grief, and gratitude for the time we shared with him.

During that time, I spent a quiet weekend in Charleston with my wife and captured this photo of the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge at night. The beauty and stillness of the moment was a welcoming reminder that even during difficult times, there is light to be found.

Waterrock K**b Didn’t Disappoint!

The Great Smoky Mountains truly lived up to their name. With a mix of distant fires, lingering pollution, and warmer valley temperatures, the sunlight wrapped the mountains in a hazy, golden glow-like they were sun-kissed in a way I’ve never seen before.

It was one of those moments where nature turns even the unexpected into something breathtaking. Absolutely unforgettable.

Back in the North Carolina mountains this past weekend, chasing that kind of light you can’t plan. The sky was heavy with clouds and rain rolling in, but right before it all let loose, the sun broke through, casting this golden, rain-kissed glow across the ridges. Sun rays spilling through the clouds, lighting up the mist just long enough to catch a few shots before the storm took over. Moments like that make the climb worth it every time.
