Just a little video project I've been working on since I discovered a Red-bellied Woodpecker nest behind my house several weeks ago. I was hoping for a more positive outcome for the birds, but I feel very lucky to not only have witnessed these sights, but also to have captured them on video. Best played with sound enabled. Another first for me: The Rose-breasted Grosbeak. I am guessing this guy is just stopping off for a rest on his migration to his breading grounds further north as they aren’t residents in my area.

Nice to see a Heron of the green variety for a change. I usually only see the Great Blues. I was photographing this bird from a causeway at Donnelley WMA while he was fishing in the marsh when, to my surprise, he decided to give up on fishing and land in a dead tree pretty close to me. I was lucky to fit all of him in the frame.

Male Pine Warbler. I heard this little guy singing in my backyard this week and he was gracious enough to come down from his really tall pine tree and land on this much closer sweet gum branch for a few seconds. I’ll be posting a short reel of him singing in his pine tree soon.
