I had such a great time photographing this dear family at Legacy Park this week. Their boys are very funny and I intended to capture some of their shenanigans. It’s been quite a couple of difficult years for me. I’m happy to say I’m still alive and that I’ve learned a lot of new skills and that everyone in my household is doing better.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to have a reset, and I intend on taking advantage.

We’ve been in transition for so long that I’ve been hesitant to show a ton of photography work because I wasn’t sure I could keep up considering my other obligations to my family and getting back into the house.

But, we just moved out of the temporary housing, so I’m excited to really show more work because I have been working during this difficult season.

If you have been overwhelmed with life and haven’t organized any holiday photos, I’m available. If you have family in town for Thanksgiving and want to do a session then, I love doing those!

My main thing will be business headshots and branding photography for businesses and entrepreneurs, but I know a lot of ppl’s minds are on their own family’s right now, which is an awesome place to be!😁

Here’s some pics from a family session last week. I really enjoyed these as Adam has been extremely helpful to me during these tough couple of years.

I LOVED my shoot at Minileit! It was so much fun to capture their space and get headshots and some studio looks as well! It's so fun to come to someone's space and hear their ideas and vision and then execute! It took very little time away from their day, and they each were able to select the images they desired off my laptop at the session.

We had a full circle headshot session the other day when we had the amazing in the studio.⁣

Hilary was the first person we met in Greenville. 10 years ago we visited the city just to check it out to see if we might want to move here some day. Hilary showed us around and treated us like her top client even though we had no immediate plans to even move to the area. ⁣
⁣
3 years later when we decided to make the move we obviously called her again and we ended up buying our dream home in the neighborhood she showed us first on that first trip. She was THAT tuned into our needs and our style that we had dreamed of moving to our now neighborhood for all those years and she made it happen. There were 4 other offers on our house and we had 5 hours to make an offer and she somehow hooked us up with a lender that got us pre-approved in hours and coached us on our offer. ⁣

We will forever be grateful to Hilary. She does it right and is kind and hard working and really cares. ⁣

The image, the bold but simple color scheme, the clean layout, the purposeful font choices... There are so many things that go into creating a luxury brand and this layout hits the nail on the head but having this specific image on this card, as opposed to “a regular ole headshot” like you might have had taken in the past... it makes all the difference. ⁣⁣

Can you see from this real life/real business example how a new and purposeful high end headshot can sky rocket your business? What are you waiting for? Your face is your calling card. What do your current headshots and profile images say about you and about your business? Does it like up to the brand you want, the message you want, the impact you want, and the income you want? ⁣⁣

This guy both has years of management experience AND has the largest collection or wrappers ever. Meaning, he has tried hundreds of versions of the iconic cookie and kept the wrappers and had them cataloged in album(s). It’s quirky and also impressive and I feel like needs to do a feature story on him and there’s a Netflix special also waiting to happen. ⁣⁣

A great headshot or branding session should have you feeling and looking like a million bucks while also showing the world both the authentic side of you and a bit of you they maybe didn’t catch before.⁣
⁣

Good branding and marketing is about consistency in style and messaging but GREAT marketing is about knowing when to surprise your audience by going a bit off script. A great way to do this is by (after establishing your baseline brand with your audience) adding a personal and unexpected element into mix. Humorous/light hearted videos can be a great way to create some vitality in your social media and to prime the algorithms for a call to action post or announcement.

There's something so energizing about meeting and photographing people that are on the brink of a something big career wise!

People get new headshots for so many reasons:
+ Hired to a new job.
+ Starting their own business.
+ Looking for a new job.
+ Got a new look and want an image to reflect it.
+ Wanting to take their personal brand to a new level.

We've watched it time and again, the way a new photograph of oneself has the ability to boost confidence and help the viewer/potential client/potential employer see you in a whole new way.

We love being part of this journey with people. We love seeing good people create dream jobs and dream careers that serve this community and serve their family.

We loved having Lantz in the studio this week and can't wait to see where this year takes him! What a great way to head into 2022!

Silly posing trick when taking headshots: Pretend like your holding a 6 foot sub sandwich: shoulders back, elbows tucked back and forearms out and to the side.... It keeps your posture in check and slims shoulders (in a headshot you don’t see any of the body except the shoulders so keeping them proportionate to the head is important).

In a behind the scenes shot it also looks a little like you’re asking a tricky question or singing a praise song at church.😂😂😂
