After 20 plus years of being behind the camera on a part time basis, I have finally made time for my passion to become a full time job. I began my part time journey in 2001 by purchasing a camera and began taking notes from my late Uncle Dennis Prather, who was an outstanding photographer for many years and my childhood inspiration. I began by second shooting weddings, taking family portraits and
took a job with a studio where I got some good old fashion studio schooling. I quickly learned that being stuck in a studio was not my cup of tea and began focusing on weddings. In the early 2000's, we photographers had to really be confident in our work as it was all film in those days. However, life got busy, I had a child to raise, went back to school and had a thousand other excuses to not pursue photography full time. Fast forward 20 years, I now have more time to focus on the things that I love; like photography. I recently found myself at my daughter's wedding aggravated that I couldn't take the photos myself! Out of all the photoshoots I have done of my daughter, this is just a day I wanted to be in control! However, I also wanted to just be Mom and take in the moment so I had to give that control to someone else that day. In doing so, it just reminded me even more of just how much I loved being behind the camera. So, here we are; A whole new start with a new business that I am super excited about! If you or someone you know is looking for a photographer who truly loves her work, please contact me and join me on my new adventure. I look forward to working with you and your families! Yours truly, Stacy
About the name.... I thought long and hard before choosing a name for my new business; I wanted something with meaning. I didn't just want to add the word photography to the end of my name, not that there is anything wrong with that (been there, done that). However, with life changing a lot for me lately, I have found myself clinging to my faith even more than before. With those changes, also comes personal and spiritual change/growth (Altar'd). Also, with the positive changes taking place in my life currently, I am excitingly looking forward into the future for brighter days (Lens). ♡ 📸
