Everything is worth documenting.
The everyday, the things that might feel mundane or routine…those are truly the things worth capturing.

I was asked the other day what my favorite thing is to photograph. I thought for a second and said, “You know, it’s not the ‘what’,
it’s the ‘who’.” It’s those who choose me to document their stories in the most special ways.

There are genres of photography and there are people. People are > choosing any genre.

I’ll always be grateful for those who have chosen to let their stories be told by me.

Sometimes a really cool project comes along that allows me to use my creativity in new and fresh ways.
I was thrilled when Alyssa with reached out asking if I could capture their newest vacation rental in Iola. It gives all the feels of ‘up north WI without the distance.
(Bonus…SO close to the annual Iola car show grounds & the Chain o’ Lakes!)

One of my favorite things about being a photographer has been watching my families grow. I love familiar faces, I love learning what’s new & what the kids are into these days. Most of all I love when the happiness grows and explodes into something new and wonderful.

Here’s the recipe:
1 part couple who really digs each other…is in sync…are not afraid to show their love and humor
1 part photographer who’s humor and personality matches

Sounds super simple…but mixing those two parts are crucial to create images like these.

Would you believe me if I told you that it was the groom who initially chose me to be their photographer?
Though rare that that is the case…it does happen and usually happens for a reason:
They felt comfortable and noted I wasn’t ‘boring’. 😆
You’d be surprised how many times I’ve heard from people who have stood up in other weddings how taking photos was ‘boring and too long.’
Nahhhhh not over here!
Choose a photographer with good intuition. Choose Someone who recognizes when to let you breathe, someone who sees moments before they happen, and ultimately, someone you can trust with your story.

I cannot stress enough how very important it is when choosing who will spend all day with you photographing your love story for your personalities to mesh!
We def nailed it!
