Last week I got permission to take pictures from the 27th floor of the Amway Grand (MDRD restaurant) as part of my bridges ArtPrize photo project. I was glad to get these perspectives on the river (north and south, portrait and landscape.) You can see in the last picture the beginning of the construction work to remove the low level dams—rocks and rapids still to come.

For my ArtPrize project, I continue to take pictures of the Grand River and its bridges, now as seen from my kayak. I’m discovering a side of Grand Rapids that I didn’t know at all!

I take all the pictures in color and then in processing go between BW and color. Tell me what your think / prefer. And yes, I got close to the 6th dam but did not attempt to shoot over it!
