Can we just take a minute to be obsessed with last night's twilight shoot up on the Reserve in Fish Haven?!

Twilight shoots are hard for a reason. You can't control the clouds or the sunset - you have to be ready and be quick once it starts showing off. Sometimes you don't get clouds. Sometimes you get too many clouds. But when it's just right... it's a photographer's dream.

This gorgeous girl drove up to Bear Lake for her senior session last fall, and we had SO much fun in this glowy cove of aspen.

Every summer I've been up here in Bear Lake, I've had a favorite shoot where the weather, the subjects, and the vibe just align. Bear Lake gets lots of afternoon wind/storms/weather in the summer months, and if my clients are willing to brave it, we usually get spectacular results.

This family was on their way when a lightning storm moved in to the North of this location, and we got lucky in that it didn't come our way. I was able to use the clouds and wind to my advantage and ended up with some truly gorgeous skies.

This mama told me she liked candids, which I usually recommend with small children as they get tired or distracted easily. I'm super in love with the cute interactions I was able to capture, and this was "that" shoot last year.

Friday Flex:

When you see a gorgeous house sitting atop a hill overlooking Bear Lake, and you say to yourself, I want to shoot that. And then it happens.

Because you've put in the work on your website, and your SEO is working for you. Because you have a strong portfolio and you know a photo is worth 1000 words. Because you love what you do and it shows.

I'll be heading back to this beauty when it greens up some more for some updated interior/exterior shots. In the meantime, enjoy the pretties.
