The Phantom - fun fact!

The Great Gray Owl is one of the tallest owls in the U.S but it’s just a ball of feathers. The Great Horned Owl and Snowy Owl weigh more than a Great Gray Owl and they have larger feet and talons! Such cool creatures!!

Little piklet!! 🥺 Just when I thought pikas couldn’t be any cuter! I was looking at some info on these cute fur balls. Did you know pikas belong to the Lagomorpha meaning they are close relatives of rabbits and hares. And that baby pikas can be called kits or piklets…

I also read pikas are commonly known as a “rock rabbit, cony (or coney), mouse hare, whistling hare or little chief hare”. My favorite is “little chief hare” - yes, it’s derived from indigenous naming traditions. 🤍
