There’s something I’ll never get over about the quiet of a newborn session 🤍

Everything just slows down… the softest moments, the tiniest movements, the way the whole room feels wrapped in this calm, peaceful kind of love.

Noa’s session was exactly that.

She slept like a little angel the entire time, completely content, while her parents soaked in every second of her. And of course, her sweet fur siblings stayed close, making sure they didn’t miss a thing and giving her so much love too 🐾

These sessions are never rushed… they’re gentle, slow, and full of the kind of moments you don’t want to forget.

When Christine and I started planning her maternity session, her and her husband couldn’t totally agree on a location or style… and they were also in the middle of buying their new home to bring their baby girl home to 🤍

So I threw out the idea of doing it at home — and they were all in.

We started in the nursery, painting the walls for their baby girl… a little “under construction” in the sweetest way. It felt so special capturing them in that space before it’s filled with all the little moments to come.

Their pup was right there the whole time too, so eager to be part of it and sneaking in all the love on mama’s bump 🐾

We also spend some time in other parts of their home too snuggling up and getting messy in the kitchen, but honestly… these moments in the nursery, just the two of them (and their first baby 🐶), getting everything ready… those are the ones that feel like the beginning of it all.

So simple, so meaningful, and so them 🤍

One of my favorite things about being a newborn photographer is getting to witness families grow. There’s something so special about those first days of becoming parents — you can almost see the moment it hits them just how deeply they love this tiny little human they created.

The quiet snuggles, the way they look at their baby in complete awe… it’s the sweetest thing.

And I love when the family’s furr baby wanders over to check on their newest little sibling — sometimes even sneaking in the gentlest little kiss. Those little moments always melt me. 🤍

The warm weather and sunshine finally showing up has me so excited for all the outdoor sessions ahead ☀️

Sharing a few favorites from this outdoor newborn session. A brand new baby wrapped in the warmth of her mama’s arms, summer sunshine on their skin, and all the beautiful color surrounding them. Outdoor newborn sessions are so underrated — there’s just something really special about soaking in those early days like this 🤍

Also the fact that it’s going to be almost 80° this week and we’re going snowboarding is not lost on me 😂🏂

It feels like just yesterday I was meeting this sweet couple for the first time — photographing their first little one growing in mama’s belly in the garden. And now here we are again, this time surrounded by the soft greens of the greenhouse, with baby number two on the way… and their baby girl officially a big sister.

Watching families grow and getting to witness these chapters unfold is something I’ll never take for granted. 🤍🌿

Motherhood feels a lot like a greenhouse 🌿

I recently photographed the sweetest mama-to-be surrounded by layers of green — soft light pouring in, everything quietly growing in its own time. And I couldn’t help but feel how much that space mirrors motherhood.

Growth you can’t rush.
Beauty in the waiting.
Roots growing deep before anything ever blooms.

My littles need me close right now, so this season looks a little slower. More presence, more soaking in the small, ordinary moments I know won’t always be this little — the cuddles, the laughter, the chaos, and the quiet in between.

Just like a greenhouse, not every season is about striving. Some are simply about tending and trusting the quiet growth happening beneath the surface.
