A picture is worth a thousand words, and according to P.S. Hunt, the owner of Valdez’s first regular photography business, Valdez and its residents had a lot to say. We’re grateful Hunt made it his mission to capture every business, occasion and activity as the city grew.

Photography has become relatively easier for the photographer and sitter by the end of the 19th century. But it was still an event. This photo shows an unknown woman dressed in her best threads with a hand-painted background inside P.S. Hunt’s photo studio.

Did you know that the bald eagle is the national emblem of the United States, but is not actually the national bird?? The is working to change that! Eagles are abundant here in Alaska, and seeing them never gets old. Please enjoy these images I captured in February of this year. This year, Boyer’s Orchard and Greenhouse will be graciously hosting us during their Blossom Festival. There will be food, vendors, a massage chair, fun activities, trees and shrubs for sale, and of course, photo sessions!

Each session will be held in the orchard (not in the greenhouse), lasts up to 30 minutes long, and includes 15+ guaranteed photos, fully edited in a high resolution online gallery. Perfect for individual portraits, engagement photos, or small families (limit 5 people, additional fees apply for larger groups)!
