Ray Bulson is a full-time freelance photographer and owner of Wilderness Visions, Inc. Salmon (mostly Pinks or Humpies) join other fish in a fresh water stream to mate. It’s easy to distinguish the recent arrivals from those that arrived days earlier. Salmons’ bodies undergo chemical changes when they go from salt water to fresh water. In addition, many shows signs of battle scars and the struggle to navigate upstream. Their bodies provide nourishment for bears, birds and other animals. In the words of artist Ray Troll, “spawn till you die.”
