After taking the Badger (1953) over from Ludington, we caught Port City's cement hauling ATB Bradshaw McKee (1977) and historic barge St. Marys Conquest (1937) going up the Manitowoc River on Monday afternoon. It was also cool to see the WW2 submarine USS Cobia (1943) sitting at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum (August 24th, 2026).

Saginaw (1953) is back! Its great to see the classic self-unloader back in service after being bought by Algoma Central earlier this year. They arrived at BNSF yesterday to load iron ore pellets for Hamilton, ON (August 26th, 2026).

Myself and were super lucky to catch the new laker Ontario Venture (2026) unloading grain at the 1957-built Lakeside Grain Trading elevator on the Calumet river while passing through! First 1000-footer built on the lakes, Stewart J. Cort (1972), left SMET late last month after being docked there for a few weeks undergoing repairs. They were escorted by G-tug Missouri (1927) to Cenovus fuel before loading iron ore pellets at BNSF Dock 5. Unfortunately, they undergoing drydocked in Sturgeon Bay for further repairs (July 30th, 2026).
