Synopsis:
It’s been called the toughest endurance race in the world ... why would anyone do this, especially when it’s 40 degrees below zero? Set in Northern Minnesota, we meet Leah, a junk food eating scientist, and Bill, an accomplished ultra-marathoner who just can’t seem to finish this incredibly challenging race. They run, bike or ski 135 miles over three days in the solitary woods, sometimes hallucinating and barely stopping to rest or sleep in the snow without getting frostbite or freezing to death. What can we learn from them about life, love and happiness?

What do some retired MLB MVPs and NHL pros do on Wednesday nights in cold Minnesota? What are their struggles after their professional career is over?

So excited to finally post this film. The Athletic (owned by the The New York Times) asked my company London Road Films LLC to create a short documentary film on this exclusive story.

I love creating sports documentaries and had so much fun filming with former MLB stars and Minnesota Twins legends Justin Morneau and Joe Mauer and many former NHL pros such as Mark Parrish, Wes Walz, Paul Martin, Nate Prosser, Jordan Leopold.

New 6-part sports docuseries that I was part of the production. Now available worldwide on Amazon Prime Video.

I had the honor of being the Director of Photography for all filming that took place in the US for this new TV show, commissioned by Amazon Studios: FC Bayern - Behind the legend. A show about one of the most successful soccer clubs in the world (they won 6 titles in one year!!)

In June of 2021 we filmed for about two weeks in New York City, Dallas and Kansas City.

Some of the highlights:

At the The Kansas City Chiefs Training Facility we filmed with Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. Fun guys!

In New York we filmed at the US offices of FC Bayern Munich, the NFL world headquarters and at the Empire State Building which was lit up in the colors of FC Bayern for one night.

In Dallas we filmed at the National Soccer Hall of Fame with Dan and Clark Hunt, the owners of the The Kansas City Chiefs and FC Dallas. True gentlemen, fun to interview. Their father Lamar Hunt was the principal founder of the American Football League AFL (later NFL), Major League Soccer (MLS) and Kansas City chiefs.
