I've realized recently that some of the most important work I have, never gets shared. Not because I don't value it...people just seem to respond better to weddings and babies and such on social media.

But more and more, I'm hired to capture families of grown children, extended family groups with grandparents & layers of generations. People who have walked through fights and vacations, cried at losses and also cried at joyful moments. It's an honor to step into your stories, even for an hour. I may not know every page, but it's a privilege to capture this journal entry of your life together with your siblings, parents, and kids.💙

des moines has been RAINY but thankfully most of my sessions have been maternity/family/newborn photography which can be done inside, at home!! ready for the sunshine and dry fall weather...cmon October!

this session was a dream. when mom emailed me about updating family photos, and I suggested a more lifestyle approach, she jumped on board SO fast. we had a gorgeous evening and so much fun!!
