When we first started planning together, their first session was supposed to be for documenting the final weeks before they became parents. But their sweet boy decided to arrive early, and getting to see them again a little later in this season of life felt incredibly special 🥹✨

Watching the way he smiled at his parents, soaked up every cuddle, and lit up in the warm golden light was pure magic. These are the kinds of moments I never get tired of documenting 🤍☀️

The Magic of Golden hour and how to capture it .. ✨

Golden hour isn’t always guaranteed and it’s not just about showing up at the right time. The time of year, the weather, and your location all affect how that light actually looks.

Some evenings, we get that strong, golden glow everyone loves. Other days, clouds roll in, haze softens the light, or it fades quicker than expected.

Even things like trees, mountains, or buildings can block the sun and shorten that window.

Every session ends up a little different and that’s completely normal!

No matter the conditions, I adjust and work with the light we have to create images that still feel natural, warm, and true to you.

But man, when golden hour lines up just perfectly, there really is nothing quite like it. 🌄

One of the most common questions I get is about how much of your wedding day will be posed vs. candid, so let’s talk about it 👇🏼

Yes, we absolutely do posed photos. I’ll guide you through portraits and family photos so everything feels easy, natural, and organized. I help guide you all the entire way, from where to place your hands, how to tilt your chin, etc. and prompt you to create those little candid moments yourselves.

But the majority of your gallery is documentary style!

That means I’m capturing your day as it actually happens, start to finish. Not just “in-between moments,” but all of it. The big moments, the small ones, the expected and the unexpected. Real reactions, real emotions, real memories.

I’m also not just randomly snapping photos and hoping for the best, I know where to be and when to be there. I’m constantly reading the room, anticipating moments before they happen, and paying attention to your people just as much as I am to you. The little interactions, the reactions, the things you might miss in the moment… those matter too.

You’ll end up with hundreds of images that reflect how your day actually felt, not just how it looked when posed.

My role is to guide when needed, document what’s real, and make sure nothing meaningful gets missed.✨

This wedding was such a snowy dream! 🤍 Who planned for it to snow here in March? Not us! Their love kept them warm though. 😘🤭 From first looks and intimate vows, this day was perfect.

Life has been beautifully full lately 🤍

In between settling into a new home, creating new rhythms, and soaking in this season of life, I’ve still been capturing the moments that matter most and this one felt extra special. I finally got to capture our newest addition to the family, baby Khalik.

This season has brought a lot of change, and I’m just taking it as it comes while continuing to do what I love. I recently captured a beautiful wedding and have more sessions coming up that I’m really excited about.

I’ve had the joy of photographing Chanel and Tyler through so many chapters—first their engagement, then their maternity session, and now this beautiful season with their newborn. Late September gifted us the softest fog, the kind that wraps everything in a little extra magic. ✨

We spread a blanket in an open field and let the morning unfold naturally. Candid snuggles, a soft glow, tiny fingers and little toes, and two brand-new parents soaking in every quiet, tender moment. These are the sessions that make my heart feel super full. 🤍

I finally got around to sharing this sweet session from early October. We met up in the morning at Bogus, and it was cold, windy, and honestly… perfect. The whole ridge was completely empty (one of my favorite locations), which made it feel like their own little corner of the mountains.

Their dogs were the cutest and totally took the cake for best dog models.

It was such a fun, easy morning with these two. I can't wait for their wedding next year!
