I’ve been quiet over here on social media. Just resting and listening. Still working a lot, just taking a mental break. Change has been brewing in our little corner of the world.
This summer will mark 15 years of shooting weddings. I’ve only booked a handful this summer instead of my usual full plate. As I said, change has been brewing for a while, but after 15 wonderful years of first looks and first dances, I’ve decided to officially retire from photographing weddings. I can’t even express how grateful I am to so many of you who have entrusted me to help capture the memories from your wedding. I consider so many of you to be among my close friends, but the time has come to pivot.
Even bigger change…once the school year is over, our family will be moving to the Boise area! I’ve been blessed to call the Walla Walla Valley home for my entire life, but I’ve realized that I’m still craving new adventures. My one and only boy will be starting high school next year and I want to spend a few summers together where I’m not working every weekend. A new job for my husband, back to school for myself, and more time family time for all of us. I’m taking a few classes now and hopefully jumping into nursing school soon.
In the meantime, I am hoping to devote more time to my portrait photography and to have more energy to breathe creativity back into my families, seniors, and newborns. We’ll be here in Walla Walla until June and I would LOVE to see you all in front of my lens! We’re keeping our home here as well (you can peek at it on both Airbnb & VRBO), so hopefully we’ll have lots of visits back to the area. I’ll still be shooting over in Boise too, if you ever feel like a road trip or just need a place to crash.
The love and support from our community here in Walla Walla has been so overwhelmingly positive while I grew my business. I’ve met so many people and had so many wonderful experiences through my lens that the idea of change brings tears to my eyes. But, to every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven, and we really feel that this change is the best for our family right now. Thank you all for loving us!
