Fall Reflections at the Maroon Bells.

A couple of weekends ago, I returned to one of my favorite spots in the Aspen area, to check the foliage update and to show the Bells to my partner for the first time.

So far, unlike in other parts of Colorado, aspen leaves look healthy, glowing, and strong, with their typical satin texture.

Also, it was great to see how prominent yellow tones were in the valley, although the green colors still prevail. Much might have changed since then, but overall it’s peaking on time.

Keep in mind that strict rules to visit the Bells are in place to avoid crowds, and showing up with permit pass is mandatory. Otherwise you can take the shuttle, ride a bike, or hike.

Strolling Around Telluride

There’s something about fall in this little corner of Colorado that makes you forget the clock. Windows down, a chill in the air, and golden aspens stretching toward rugged peaks.

I will never get tired of taking a random turn just to see where the road leads. Around here, there’s always a reason to pull over and linger a little longer.

Early Fall in Snowmass Village

Last weekend, I went to catch the sunrise in this edge between civilization and wilderness.

Although some areas of Aspen are turning yellow, in some others scrub oaks are already glowing red, painting the slopes in vibrant autumn colours. Paired with an incredible sunrise, it was a breathtaking glimpse of the season ahead.

Current Fall Conditions in Crested Butte

The golden season has finally arrived in Crested Butte!

While driving around, I noticed bunches of golden aspens scattered throughout the region, along with vast stretches of lemon-lime foliage near Peanut Lake, Kebler Pass, Gothic Road, and along Hwy 135.

It looks like fall colors will arrive early in some parts of Colorado this year. Who’s ready?
