Here’s a fun look at my three film cameras and the types of photos I like to take with each one!

1. Canon SureShot 85 Zoom
This is my most hands-off, user friendly film camera. All you have to do is point and shoot! I’ll pull this one out at receptions (yay for built in flash!) and bring it along when we’re headed out somewhere fun as a family. For anyone looking to get into film, this is a great starter camera!

2. Canon Rebel XS
My workhorse and basically the permanent home for my 50mm lens! I absolutely love this camera. It’s the perfect balance of manual and automatic— you have full control over the shutter speed and f-stop, internal light metering, and can see what’s in focus in real time. Bonus: I got it at an estate sale for $25. 😎

3. Yashica Electro 35
My OG baby! The camera that started it all. There was a huuuuuge learning curve figuring out how to operate this guy, but it was so worth it! I could have done without the time where I “shot” an entire (beautiful, stunning) roll with no film in the camera 😫 but now I’ll never make that mistake again…hopefully.

What do we think? Do I need to add another one to the bunch? 🎞️✨

There’s something uniquely special about an in-home session. Getting an insider look at where real life happens, the personal touches in each family’s home, and the comfort that comes with being in “your” space.

I will always hold this time with the Murphys with me— watching them hold their tiny baby, talking about the ups and downs of postpartum, and capturing this beautiful, yet fleeting time in their lives. 🥹

More and more, I find myself reaching for film in everyday life. Night out with friends? Road trip down south? Sunset in the front yard? Day at the zoo? I’ll be there, film camera in hand.

All of my wedding collections come with film because I want to channel this same energy on your wedding day— even the most mundane, everyday moments (in the midst of your best day) can be so beautiful.
