Had some fun today reimagining one of my favorite dance photos taken with Mira from our shoot last year. In my first version it was darker and moodier. I wanted to see what it would look like with a different color palette.

Old Town Louisville always lends itself to fun photoshoots. Add in a fiery redhead with fun fashion and styling and it is a slam-dunk!

Last Saturday I had a small Open House event at my studio and ADORE all of the families and people that came by for quick photoshoots!

It was a fun mix of headshots, fashion, family photos, pets, hats, color and more!

Class of 2026 Senior Spotlight - BRAYDON!

I am always thrilled and all ears when seniors come to me with their creative ideas or vision for a session. For Braydon, he wanted to capture some shots of him in one of his favorite places. The boxing ring and gym.

We were able to take advantage some some ring-time and then headed outdoors for nature and urban shots. He did an amazing job and I couldn't have been happier with the results from this session.

There’s something powerful about a dancer owning the frame. When you have as much experience as Ike does, it is easy to do!

This session was all about strength, form, and confidence. Watching him step into each pose was like watching a story unfold. He also nailed a nice variety of audition headshots!

Last Fall I found a new favorite location in Boulder

With the Flatirons in the background, tons of trees, tall grasses, rocks and expansive skies with amazing clouds, I fell in love!

Best thing about it, it is never crowded and there is plenty of space to spread out!

Most people know I photograph dance.
But movement is movement, and I love it all.

My daughter’s Roller Derby team brings their energy to every single practice and recently they joined me in the studio (sans-skates) for a fun photoshoot. I love how these photos showcase how connected, silly and full of grit they are!

Before I was behind the camera, I was a girl with pointe shoes and learning the art of ballet. Beyond that I studied, Contemporary, Jazz, Choreography and more!

In my 20s, I joined the Swing Dance craze of the late 90s in Chicago, and even competed!

Being a dancer means I understand lines, timing, extension, and the split second before the leap peaks. I don’t just photograph movement. I anticipate it.
