My favorite family sessions are when I get to step into their little world.

At the place they feel safest.
Their yard. Their animals.

And I get to be more of the audience than the director.

Here’s an extra special couple to me.

These two may look familar. They’ve already made an appearance on my feed. Back in June. When Sarah’s sister, Anna married the love of her life at Gervasi.

Sarah was the definition of a perfect Maid of Honor. And she was immensely helpful for me, as well.

A few months ago when Sarah inquired and said she wanted me to photograph her wedding, it just made my day.

What an honor 🥹

Ohio showed off for us and gave us light I spent an hour chasing. Getting some of the prettiest fall glow of the season yet!!!

Some weddings remind you exactly what matters most. And Kelly and Casi’s wedding was one of them. 🥹🤍

These two have never been interested in doing things the traditional way.

From their hilariously awkward JCPenney-inspired engagement photos to their funky formal wedding reception, Kelly and Casi have made one thing abundantly clear.

They’re doing this their way. And I am HERE FOR IT.

Surrounded by their closest family and friends, these two promised forever in the brick courtyard at Kelly’s parents.

The same home where she got ready that morning. The same place filled with family memories. And now, the place where an entirely new chapter begins.

And can we talk about those vows?!

I don’t think there was a single dry eye in that courtyard. Myself included. 🥹

Their words were thoughtful, heartfelt, and rooted in what actually makes a marriage last. Not the grand gestures. Not the picture-perfect moments. But the everyday choice to love, support, and show up for one another.

And when it was time to celebrate?!

Those handmade ribbon wands that Kelly and her sister spent HOURS creating were waving everywhere, and the JOY was absolutely contagious!

Here’s what I loved most about today.

Kelly and Casi weren’t planning a wedding to impress anyone. They were celebrating a marriage that means everything to them.

They were calm. Confident. Relaxed. Completely present.

No pressure to perform. No expectations to live up to. Just two people who know exactly who they are, what they want, and who they want beside them for the rest of their lives.

And something tells me these two will still be making each other laugh well into their 90s. 🤍

Kelly and Casi, what an absolute HONOR to be trusted with these memories. Your love is something special, and I couldn’t be happier for you both.

Here’s to doing things your own way, loving each other fiercely, and building a marriage even more beautiful than your wedding day. 🥂

Bella + Chris 🤍

A perfect October Saturday, a beautiful fall day, and a wedding filled with happy tears, plenty of laughs, and so many memories made.

Bella is currently in school full time becoming a dentist, which meant she put a whole lot of trust into her sister, Savannah, to help bring her wedding vision to life.

And Savannah absolutely knocked it out of the park.

The textures. The colors. The florals. Every tiny detail came together so beautifully for Bella and Chris at 1840 Manor House.

But my favorite detail of the entire day?
The ginormous Star Wars LEGO set Bella somehow managed to hide underneath her wedding dress for their first look. 😂

Chris got to see his bride for the first time, we let him soak that moment in, and then Bella revealed what she had been hiding.

I’m not sure which expression was more priceless. Seeing his bride... or seeing that LEGO set. 😂

After their first look, we headed to St. Peter’s Catholic Church in downtown Canton where Bella and Chris officially became husband and wife. Then it was back to 1840 Manor House for an intimate cocktail hour before DJ Rev Dev took over and made sure that dance floor stayed exactly where it belonged: full.

311 photos. 134 pages.

And Grace and Dan haven’t seen a single one of them yet.

Because when my couples come in for their album ordering appointment, they aren’t scrolling through their wedding gallery for the second or third time.

This is the first time they’re seeing their wedding photos.

They walk into the studio, sit down on the couch, and get to relive their wedding day all over again through a fully designed album filled with the moments that made the day theirs.

The big moments, of course.

But also the little ones.

The reactions they didn’t see. The people they love. The quiet moments happening in between everything else. The photographs they didn’t even know I was taking.

All thoughtfully chosen and designed to tell the story of their wedding day from beginning to end.

For Grace and Dan, that meant 311 photographs across 134 pages.

And THIS is why heirloom artwork is one of my favorite parts of the entire wedding client experience.

It isn’t just about handing my couples a beautiful album when everything is finished.

It’s about creating an experience around their photographs.

Sitting together. Reliving the day. Laughing. Crying. Remembering things they had already forgotten.

And then creating something tangible from all of it that gets to live in their home for decades.

A wedding gallery is beautiful.

But watching my couples hold their wedding story in their hands?

That will never get old. 🤍

Christen had a vision for her engagement photos: historic Cleveland architecture, city streets, and a rooftop with the skyline in the background.

Challenge accepted. 🤌🏼

We met outside the Cleveland Public Library and spent the first half of their session wandering the surrounding streets, chatting about life, laughing, and talking all about Christen and Greg’s upcoming January wedding at The Onesto.

Then we headed up.

Turns out, the parking garage we parked in gave us exactly what Christen had envisioned: a rooftop view with the Cleveland skyline behind them.

Historic architecture + city streets + skyline views. Cleveland understood the assignment. 👏🏼

Lots of familiar faces around here lately. 🥹🫶🏼

A year ago, I was introduced as Nico + Olivia’s wedding photographer.

Now, per Nico’s own words, I’m their “forever family photographer.”

And honestly? That might be one of my favorite titles yet.

My website might be dedicated to weddings.
My Instagram feed might be full of evergreen wedding content.
My yearly income might rely heavily on weddings.

But my heart? My heart absolutely jumps for joy when those wedding couples keep coming back to me.

When seasons change.
When babies are born.
When those babies turn into toddlers.
When the family they dreamed about on their wedding day starts taking shape right in front of my camera.

There’s something really freaking special about photographing the beginning of a marriage and then being invited back into their story again... and again... and again.

What starts as “our wedding photographer” somehow becomes “our photographer.”

And I will never take that for granted. 🫶🏼

I have to be honest here, friends.

I’m struggling with something.

I love sharing beautiful photos I’ve taken of my clients. Weddings and engagements? All day long. Even if I can’t stand the hamster wheel that is social media marketing these days. 🤣

And showing off repeat clients who have trusted me since their engagement photos?

MY FAVORITE.

But putting a baby’s face on the internet?

Lately, that’s been giving me some feelings.

There is so much good in this world. So much light. But there are also parts of the internet that make me stop and think about what I’m putting out there, who can see it, and where those photos could potentially end up.

So I’m taking a page out of Bri and Andrew’s parenting book.

Moving forward, you’re going to see fewer and fewer recognizable faces of children on this page.

This is a public account. Anyone can see what I share here. And while the odds of one of my posts going wildly viral are probably pretty slim, especially since I refuse to fully participate in the social media hamster wheel 🤣, I keep coming back to the same thought:

If a photo I took of someone’s child ended up somewhere it was never intended to be, I would have a really hard time living with that.

So if you’re scrolling through my feed and notice that family previews start looking a little different, know that it’s intentional.

You’ll still see the snuggles.
The tiny hands.
The curls.
The bear hugs.
The chaos.
The connection.
The story.

Just maybe with a little more privacy woven in.

September by Lake Erie, a giant willow tree, two very good boys, and one very rude rainstorm. 😂

McKenzie and Phil chose Edgewater Park for their engagement session because of the beautiful willow tree along the water, which felt especially fitting since they’ll be getting married at Gervasi Vineyard next September.

Jackson and Bentley joined us too, with a little help from McKenzie’s sister Olivia and her boyfriend Josh. They smiled for the camera like absolute professionals and only tried to take McKenzie’s arm out once. I’d call that a success.

The rain cut our evening a little shorter than planned, but we still managed to create such a good mix of polished portraits and candid moments before the skies completely opened up.
