If the sun is out, I will find a way to work in it. ☀️

I have a perfectly good studio. A desk. A chair. Air conditioning. All the things a productive adult supposedly needs.

And yet my ADHD brain sees one beautiful Ohio day and suddenly indoor productivity is CANCELLED.

So yes, I carried my laptop, to-do list, Bloom, and a footrest outside and built myself an office in the sunshine.

Because at this point, I know myself well enough to stop fighting it.

If changing the scenery gets my brain to lock in, the emails answered, the blogs written, and the education created...we’re moving the office.

Especially when we all know Ohio sunshine has an expiration date. 😂

Any other working moms / photographers / ADHD brains out there who are suspiciously more productive when they’re basically photosynthesizing?

Ten years.

It’s strange how a milestone can sneak up on you until one ordinary moment makes you realize just how much life has happened.

This week, I put my baby on the kindergarten bus.

And at almost the exact same time, I realized I’ve officially been a full-time solopreneur for a decade.

A decade of building.

Pivoting.

Motherhood.

Weddings.

Late nights.

Big risks.

Hard seasons.

And a whole lot of figuring it out as I went.

What I’m most proud of isn’t simply that the business survived those ten years.

It’s that I built it in a way that allowed me to keep choosing my family, even during seasons when the business only had a handful of focused hours from me each week.

And now?

Both girls are in school.

For the first time in nearly nine years, I have real, uninterrupted workdays again.

Which means I keep asking myself one question:

If I built all of this with 10-ish hours a week… what will year 11 look like?!

Swipe through for a little look back at the last decade.

Then head to the blog for the full story, including the part of this journey I didn’t realize would become one of the biggest reasons this business kept working while I was busy raising babies.

And maybe a little hint about what I’m building next. 👀

Your wedding photos were never meant to live in a gallery you scroll through once and forget about.

They’re meant to become part of your family’s story.

That’s why my wedding experience doesn’t end when the photos are edited.

A few weeks after the wedding, my couples come back to the studio, sit down with me, and see their wedding photographs for the first time inside a massive, pre-designed album filled with the big moments, the little moments, and all the pieces of the day they didn’t even know were happening.

Then we make it theirs.

More photographs. A bigger album. The full story, preserved intentionally instead of condensed down to whatever fits inside the album that came with their collection.

Because we aren’t just designing this album for you today.

We’re designing it for 20 years from now when your kids pull it off the shelf.

For 40 years from now when the edges are a little more worn because it’s actually been looked through and loved.

And for 50+ years from now when your kids and grandkids are arguing over who gets Mom and Dad’s wedding album. 🤍

That is the client experience I want to give my couples.

Not “Thanks for trusting me. Here’s your gallery.”

But a finished piece of your family’s history that gets passed down long after the wedding day is over.

If this is how you want your wedding story photographed, experienced, and preserved, I still have a limited number of 2027 wedding dates available.

Send me a message and let’s talk about yours.

Some wedding days are beautiful because of the details.

Others stay with you because of the people.

Grace and Dan’s wedding at Rivercrest Farm had both.

Everywhere I turned, there was something happening between the people who love them most. A tear being wiped away. A hug that lasted a few seconds longer than usual. A proud dad watching his daughter from across the room. The kind of moments that aren’t written into a timeline, but end up becoming some of the most important photographs from the entire day.

Thankfully, after 15 years of photographing weddings, I’ve learned to anticipate them. To keep my camera up a little longer. To watch what’s happening around the moment everyone else is focused on. Because those are usually the photographs that matter more and more as the years pass.

Grace and Dan, although Dan will happily tell you it was mostly Grace and her mom 😂, planned a day filled with incredibly thoughtful touches.

But one of my favorites came when Dan surprised his bride with a diamond necklace.
The first of many heirlooms created that day.

Because the necklace will become part of their family story.

And so will these photographs.

The truth is, your brain simply cannot hold onto every moment of a wedding day. There is too much excitement, too much emotion, too many people you love in one place and too much happening all at once.
Eventually, some of the details get fuzzy.

And that’s why these photographs matter.

They remind you how your dad looked at you.

How tightly your mom hugged you.

Who wiped away a tear when they thought no one noticed.

What it felt like to be surrounded by everyone you love while beginning your marriage.

Forever grateful that couples like Grace and Dan cross my path and trust me with something this important.

And getting to photograph their day at one of my favorite places, Rivercrest Farm, made it even sweeter. 🤍
