What a joy it was to be a part of your senior photos. Alyssa photographed this one (perfection as usual) but I felt so much JOY editing through your photos, it just radiates everywhere with you!

Some strong opinions of mine after being in this business for a bit!

Realistically, I’ve been in this for about 8 years but let’s be real. I had no clue what I was doing for the first few 😵‍💫

So we’ll start from when KNP launched.

I really think that your senior photos should show off what you were like your senior year. Trends and all. Go for it, go all out! Wear the trendy dress, do the makeup trend that’s all over TikTok. You only get these done once and what matters is that you love them NOW.

Not sure if this is popular opinion or not… but it just seems so icky to me.

I also don’t charge extra for tax, the pricing I present to clients is after tax.

I just set my pricing and eat the processing fees and tax.

I hate not getting an out the door price from people upfront, so I do it as much as I can in my business!

Does this need an explanation??

If your session is at the beach I’m asking you how far in the water you plan on getting.

And maybe encourage you to get in a littllleee more at the very end!! Worth it. Promise.

Privacy shouldn’t have to be something you pay extra for 😭

My cost of doing business has NOTHING to do with how much I charge for sessions.

I know that might seem crazy and it’s a huge mindset shift I had a few years ago.

If a hard drive tripling in price cripples my business… I’m not running much of a business anyway.

I actually don’t use those hard drives any more anyway - thank god.

Regardless, I’m a firm believer that the only thing that should justify your pricing as a photographer is your supply vs demand and value of what you have to offer. (And the public determines that)

NOT
- how much gear you have
- years of experience
- how good your photos are
- how long a session is
- how long it takes to edit
- how much gas costs right now

They’re more than bag holders, hair fixers, and dress floofers. This is a big moment for them, too. Let’s get AT LEAST one pic of you together for the mems!

Gonna show y’all over the next year that studio sessions are amazing and should be considered as one

Save this when it’s time to plan outfits for your senior photos!

I would be soooo stressed trying to pick what to wear so hopefully this helps!

I think the 3 outfit “rule” is such a solid starting point so you have variety in your photos. Of course, you don’t have to follow it if you don’t want to! So many seniors do something else completely. This is just to help if you may not even know where to start :)

Flashback to an August session in downtown Annapolis from last year with Charlotte ♥️

While I love a good grass field or beach, mixing it up and heading to the city for a session is always so fun. We have a couple more Annapolis senior sessions coming up and I CANT WAIT!
