When I think of someone with a kind-hearted spirit, Brett comes to mind at the top of the list! We have been working together for eons in my mind at this point. I have found a great appreciation in growing with her and value the trust she has in me. She is always encouraging and if you want someone who cares, she’s your go to! 🤎

Be my Valentine 💌 cause I can hear your heart beating

First collection of imagery from my new project where I’ll be playing with color in the city. 🌆

My very talented friend and I styled this look together. Every outfit in this project will have a monochromatic style with colors I find around the city.❤️‍🔥

PS. I’ve been enjoying sharing a few things I love about the people I work with and my friends. Alex and I have been friends since we were fresh out of high school. Our friendship is intrinsically intertwined with our shared love of music and that’s how we bonded. (And we have good taste, just sayin’). She’s a phenomenal photographer and kind of a baddie. 💯

Have you heard of The Crown Act?

Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural hair: The CROWN Act was created to ensure protection against discrimination based on race-based hairstyles by extending statutory protection to hair texture and protective styles such as braids, locs, twists, and knots in the workplace and public schools.

While 28 states and numerous cities in the U.S. have passed their own version of the CROWN Act providing legal protections for their residents, no federal CROWN Act has yet to pass congress.

• Nearly half (44%) of black women under the age of 34 feel pressure to have a headshot with straight hair

• 2/3 black women change their hairstyle for a job interview. Among them, 41% changed their hair from curly to straight

• Black women’s hair is 2.5x more likely to be perceived as unprofessional

• 100% of black elementary school girls in majority-white schools who report experiencing hair discrimination state they experience discrimination by the age of 10

• 47% of black mothers report having experienced discrimination related to their hair

• While 90% of black girls believe their hair is beautiful, the micro aggressions and discrimination she endures has an impact on how she sees herself.
