We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature - trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence… We need silence to be able to touch souls. ~Mother Theresa

Nature is the home of the holy spirit and nourishes anyone who wishes to enjoy it. I always feel refreshed and happy when I am outside in the fresh air and (hopefully) sunshine. Rain and snow are also ok, but sunshine is best.

The cool thing about nature is that it’s never the same. Season to season and day to day there is always something new outside. You might have to look closely and pay attention but it is well worth it.

I think some of the coolest things are some of the smaller ones. Look closely at a rock and you will see fine details, colors, shapes and textures that might just fascinate you.

A tree full of leaves will have hundreds, if not thousands of variations of the exact same thing. A leaf imagined, created and enjoyed so many different ways. Similar to a blade of grass and a drop of water. None of them are the same.

So God is the ultimate artist and you will find him/her in their creations. Including us as humans. We are part of nature and created by the creator.

It’s really a wonderful feeling to align with nature and enjoy the sound of her silence. Or the crash of the water or whisper of wind in the trees. It is all precious and worth taking the time to enjoy.

A great way to do this is to set aside time for a walk or outing each day in your planner. Don’t wait until the last minute to decide you want to enjoy the sunshine, plan for it ahead of time.

The fall colors outside are really bright this year and hanging on so far. I am loving the gold, orange and yellow leaves in contrast to the bright blue skies.

What does this time of year look like where you are?

Forgiveness is for yourself because it frees you. It lets you out of that prison you put yourself in. ~Louise Hay

I discovered a fragrance recently that I fell in love with and the name of it is 'Forgive'. The fresh, woody aroma of this Renewing Blend helps to counteract emotions of anger and guilt, while promoting the liberating feelings of contentment, relief, and patience.

Emotional aromatherapy is an often overlooked strategy for healing old wounds. When this is combined with coloring pages, affirmations and/or exercise it can be transformative.

The cool thing about smells is that different ones have unique effects on our mood.

MINT: With a high concentration of ketones, mint essential oils typically hold significant energizing, invigorating, and uplifting properties.

FLORAL: Composed mostly of monoterpene alcohols and esters, floral essential oils are known to promote toning and calming properties.

CITRUS: Using the monoterpenes known as limonene and beta-pinene, citrus essential oils typically have strong uplifting characteristics.

TREE, GRASS, HERB: Rich in esters, oxides, and sesquiterpenes, essential oils taken from trees, herbs, and grasses promote soothing, renewing, and grounding feelings.

SPICE: Phenols are the primary chemical constituents of most spice essential oils, making these oils particularly useful for their warming properties.

Do you enjoy aromatherapy and/or what is your favorite oil/blend?

Are you someone who struggles to fall asleep at night?
Are you able to fall asleep but you wake up constantly through the night?
Are you only able to nab a few short hours of sleep before you're wide awake again?

With increased stress due to the pandemic, sleep issues are becoming more and more prevalent.

It is important to remember that a good, full night of rest is incredibly important for maintaining your health and happiness. Restful sleep provides critical benefits for your brain and body’s functions.

With high quality sleep you can retain more information, increase your learning capabilities, and be more creative. Your body is better able to digest food, have more energy, and maintain overall better functionality when rested from the night before.

So how can you get those high quality Z’s?

Here are some of the very best solutions and strategies for getting better sleep!

You can control two things: your work ethic and your attitude about anything. ~Ali Krieger

I have found this to be true in my life. So much seems to be out of control or out of my control anyway 😆. So I focus on gratitude and what I can do.

This starts with my thoughts. What do I think and what do I believe? I then seem to act on these things.

Working smarter and not harder will get you where you need to go. This brings about my other point for today. Working harder will wear you out most of the time.

So work ethic for me involves plenty of self care and gratitude. I focus on what is important to me and what I am grateful for. The rest comes naturally. I am engaged and productive with my business.

Growing up in a small town, on a farm, meant a lot of hard work and not much luxury. As a result I learned to work hard and not expect life to be pretty or easy.

This has helped me in many ways as I have "put my nose to the grindstone" and muscled my way through many projects.

This has also hurt me in many ways when I try to hard to make something work that really wasn't meant to be.

Over time I learned that the only control I really have is to change my mind. And to be very careful about what I set in my mind. It will come true!

Also, don't you just love this pretty flower! It is a very special variety of Iris carried west by the wives of some of the earliest miners in the North Cascades Mountains. My Mom called them "Settler's Irises".

The town I grew up in was very remote and the first people to live there, other than the Native Americans, were miners and their families.

I'm curious, did anyone else out there on the gram grow up in a small town or on a farm?

I only ask because I love connecting with others who understand the unique experience of growing up close to more animals than people 😉. Fun fact, my best friend when I was 4 was a Goat 🐐. Seriously. For real. Them and the ducks 🦆. I loved the ducks.

Yeah, I was kind of a loner but I have a heck of an imagination!

When you feel copied, remember that people can only go where you have been, they have no idea where you are going next. ~Liz Lange

Where is your future taking you? Are you paying attention to where other people are going or are you focused on your own path?

It's easy to get caught up in comparing ourselves to other people and looking at what they are doing vs what we are doing. Unfortunately this can be a trap.

If you are spending more time looking at others than you are working on your own dreams then you are most likely not very happy with the way that things are going.

Do you know where YOU are going next?

Are you following your inner guides and making your dreams come true or are you sitting on the sidelines of life and watching and waiting?

Today's art was created to encourage you to find your own unique inner path and follow it. You can see the clear direction to the flowing water and at the same time the rocks settled at the edge of the deck. No longer moving and most likely there for a long time.

Will you be the water or the rocks?

And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. ~Anais Nin

Does this speak to you? Are you holding back?

Owning our dreams and living the life we really want is in our grasp.

Yes, this is true. You don't have to wait. It is actually painful to keep our dreams locked up inside of us.

Part of our natural process as souls is to grow and develop into who we are meant to be. This is different for everyone and the key to success in this life is to be who you were meant to be.

Yes, its that simple.

AND at the same time it can feel/be almost impossible.

So I get it when you look at this and think. "Well, maybe for some people". I thought that myself for so many years.

It wasn't until I started to listen to Norman Vincent Peale's audio book "The Power of Positive Thinking" that I started to actually think differently. AND when my thoughts changed, my life did too.

I have literally been astounded at the way my life started to change shape. I was in excruciating pain, most days, as my dreams slowly died on the inside.

Outside, I was smiling and trying to live a "good" life. On the inside I felt like I was falling apart at the seams. Life felt miserable and monotonous.

I slowly realized that no matter what place I was in, and how hopeless it all looked, I had the power to change it for the better. AND I did.

So I encourage you today to go really deep inside and connect with your dreams. Or if you are already connected, connect more deeply.

Are you blossoming (shown in today's art 😍) or are you still tight in a bud?

Have you heard this before? “The person who loves walking will go further than the person that loves the destination.”

Wherever you find yourself on your journey today, remember to focus on one step at a time because how you get somewhere is often more exciting and rewarding than where you end up.
