From the colorful fall foliage of Portland to the rocky coastline of Cape Elizabeth, Tanner had quite the proposal planned for Ranada! 🍂💍

Visiting New England from Texas, Tanner knew he wanted to pop the question somewhere scenic, surrounded by beautiful fall colors, but with enough privacy to make the moment feel intimate. After discussing a few options, we settled on Deering Oaks Park in Portland, which I've always thought of as Maine's own little Central Park! He loved the way the bridge was framed by the autumn foliage, and the quiet setting meant I could hide out of sight and photograph the entire moment without giving away the surprise.

And what a reaction! The second Ranada realized what was happening, she dropped her purse so fast! 😂 Tanner had even arranged for me to pick up flowers ahead of time so she'd have a bouquet waiting for her after she said yes. Such a thoughtful little detail!

After exploring the park and soaking in that just-engaged excitement, we headed to Portland Head Light in Cape Elizabeth for a completely different kind of Maine scenery. We traded golden leaves for dramatic coastal rocks, ocean views, and the prettiest pink skies as the sun went down behind the lighthouse.

Two iconic Maine locations, one very happy couple, and a pretty unforgettable afternoon! Congratulations, Tanner & Ranada! I'm so glad Maine got to be part of your story! ❤️

From fifth-grade classmates to husband and wife, Doug and Saundra have quite the love story to tell! ❤️

These two have known each other for most of their lives, but life took them in different directions until they recently found their way back to one another. During the reception, Doug shared a story about the very first time he saw Saundra in the hallway at school, all those years ago. He even remembers exactly what she was wearing! As Saundra's mother put it, their love story is straight out of a Hallmark movie!

They celebrated their wedding on a beautiful October day in Bangor, with a church ceremony followed by an intimate reception at the historic Tarratine Inn. And the flowers! There were stunning, colorful florals everywhere, from the ceremony archway to the grand staircase and elegant dinner tables. Every space was absolutely overflowing with flowers! Another favorite detail was Saundra's wedding dress, which she had fallen in love with but discovered was sold out online. Not one to give up easily, Doug went straight to the designer to help make sure she could have the dress of her dreams!

Rather than a traditional wedding reception, the evening felt more like an elegant family dinner party, with their closest loved ones gathered around the table. But there was still plenty of fun! Doug and Saundra kicked things off with a Pulp Fiction-inspired first dance, entertained their guests with a hilarious newlywed game featuring vintage Barbie dolls, and treated everyone to espresso crème brûlée for dessert.

It was such a wonderful celebration of a love story decades in the making, with just the right mix of elegance, personality, and fun. Congratulations, Doug and Saundra! ❤️

Scott & Kat's October wedding at Willows Awake Winery in Leeds was the perfect blend of rustic charm, country western flair, and romantic elegance! Nestled among the vineyards and surrounded by beautiful fall foliage, their wedding day was absolutely drenched in sunshine from beginning to end. ☀️🍂

One of my favorite things about this wedding was just how much thought went into every little detail! Kat is a girl after my own heart when it comes to the details, and she showed up that morning with an entire box of carefully chosen items for me to incorporate into her bridal detail photos. I was in photographer heaven! From dried florals and an antique gold hand mirror to delicate jewelry, personalized wax seals, and the stunning invitation suite, every little detail came together so beautifully!

The morning began at the venue's charming getting-ready cabin across the street, where the girls celebrated with a mimosa bar and heart-shaped confetti cannons! Kat shared a sweet first look with her dad on the porch, followed by a first touch with Scott, where they held hands around a doorway without seeing each other before the ceremony. And speaking of the ceremony, Scott made quite the entrance, driving a tractor with his groomsmen riding along on the front! Their pup Tuna had an important role as ring bearer, too! 🐾

The ceremony took place overlooking the vineyard, with the October sunshine illuminating the colorful hills behind them. Afterward, we took advantage of that gorgeous golden light for portraits among the vines, and Kat's incredibly long veil made for some of my favorite photos of the day!

Their reception was just as thoughtfully put together, with rustic wooden tables, soft florals and lace, signature cocktails named after their pets, the sweetest birch-inspired wedding cake, and an abundance of glowing candles beneath a beautiful white tent. There was a ch*****ne tower, cozy blankets for guests as the evening temperatures dropped, and plenty of dancing under the string lights!

I loved how Scott and Kat brought together so many different elements to create a wedding that felt completely their own. A little bit country, very elegant, and filled with so much personality! Congratulations again, Mr. & Mrs. Dubuc! 🤍

Fall in Maine is pretty hard to beat, especially when you get to experience it with your favorite person! 🍁

Avory & Nick traveled all the way from Missouri to experience New England's famous fall foliage, and I was so excited to show them some of my favorite spots in Acadia! These two met back in high school and have known each other for nine years. They're not only a couple, but best friends, and I loved seeing their playful personalities and how much fun they have together!

Since fall is their favorite season, we wanted to make sure their photos captured as much of Maine's autumn beauty as possible! We started at the iconic Somesville Bridge, made our way to Little Long Pond, and finished the evening at Jordan Pond. The weather gave us a little bit of everything, from sunshine illuminating the colorful leaves to fog rolling over the mountains, before treating us to a beautiful sunset to end the evening.

I always love getting to share the beauty of Maine with couples visiting from out of state, and this was such a fun evening exploring Acadia with these two! 🍂

When Scott reached out to me last month about his plans to propose to his girlfriend, Rachel, during their trip to Maine, I was so excited to help him pull off the surprise! The two met in college seven years ago, and were visiting the Newry area with a group of friends for a fall getaway. Scott had come up with a pretty clever plan to get Rachel to the historic Sunday River Covered Bridge without raising any suspicions. After heading out for coffee that morning, he told her there had been a moose sighting at the bridge and suggested they go check it out. Little did she know, the only thing waiting for her at the bridge was Scott getting down on one knee!

Of course, she said YES! ❤️ And their friends had thought of just about everything, including one very important detail. Knowing Rachel would probably prefer something other than the sweatpants she'd worn out for coffee for her engagement photos, they secretly packed a change of clothes for her! After a quick outfit change, we took advantage of the gorgeous October weather and colorful mountain views for some portraits of the newly engaged couple.

Congratulations, Scott and Rachel! I hope your first trip to Maine as an engaged couple is one you'll never forget!

Some places hold a special place in your heart, and for Sam and Carter, that place is Cannon Mountain in Franconia, New Hampshire! Sam grew up spending winters skiing here with her family, and years later, it became the place where she met Carter and fell in love. After four years together and a mountaintop proposal in Colorado, it only made sense for them to return to the mountain where their story began to say "I do!"

Cannon Mountain doesn't typically host weddings, but they made a special exception for Sam and Carter, and what a beautiful time of year to celebrate! With the White Mountains showing off their gorgeous fall foliage, the entire day was surrounded by incredible scenery. They got ready at Sam's parents' home nearby, shared a sweet first look, and celebrated with their closest family and friends against a backdrop of colorful mountains. We even had an unexpected wedding guest! During portraits, guests kept pointing up toward the mountain and joking about a bear wandering around. As it turns out, there really WAS a black bear making an appearance on the mountainside!

One of my favorite parts of being a wedding photographer is getting to reconnect with families I've photographed over the years. I first met Sam when I photographed her brother's wedding a few years ago, so it was such a treat to be invited back to capture another special chapter for their family.

An early Fall session with the V family at Portland Headlight in Cape Elizabeth! This family was visiting from out of state, and wanted to capture a piece of Maine to bring home with them! Their 2 year old took a bit to warm up to me and my camera, but eventually, he ended up deciding we could be friends and starting bringing me flowers (cue my heart melting!). It was a little chilly, and a bit cloudy, but I showed them my favorite spots around the park and we had a beautiful evening together! I also loved seeing how smitten little W's grandparents were with him!

Today is wedding day for Jess & Ethan!! And what better way to celebrate than by finally sharing one of the most incredible engagement sessions I've ever photographed?!

Jess and Ethan traveled all the way from North Carolina for their engagement session here in Maine, a place they both love so much. They're even fans of Noah Kahan and his music inspired by Maine, so it seemed especially fitting to have their session at Two Lights State Park in Cape Elizabeth! The weather had been keeping us on our toes all day, with rain coming and going, but the forecast was promising some sunshine for our session. Well, Maine had other plans! Not long after we started, the rain made another appearance. Thankfully, these two were happy to embrace a few sprinkles, and I'm SO glad we decided to keep going!

What happened next was something I'll never forget. The clouds began to break, the sky turned the most incredible shades of pink, peach, and lavender, and suddenly there was a rainbow stretching over the ocean. And then another! For the rest of our session, we were treated to rainbow after rainbow, with some of the most spectacular skies I've ever witnessed behind my camera. I honestly couldn't believe what we were seeing! 🌈

Sometimes the most unpredictable weather makes for the most unforgettable photographs, and this evening was the perfect example. I'm so thankful Jess and Ethan trusted me enough to stick it out through the rain, because I don't think any of us could have imagined how beautiful the evening would become.

And now, today, these two are getting MARRIED! I can't wait to celebrate with them and capture the next chapter of their story. Happy wedding day, Jess & Ethan!! ❤️

We lucked out with a gorgeous evening for my last beach session of 2026! These were taken in mid-September, which meant we practically had the beach to ourselves. The last time I saw the Bragg family, they were pregnant with this little guy! Mom was so smart and brought a small bubble machine, which really helped their little guy relax and have fun in front of the camera! We were treated to a gorgeous sunset at Goose Rocks Beach, and ended the evening with some splashing in the ocean of course! The pup was not impressed with getting his paws wet, so he watched from nearby during that part!

Aunika showed me a new (to me) location for her Senior portrait session - the Papermill Recreation Area in Hampden! This is a place that's special to her because her Dad has taken her here since she was little to go fishing. The river flowing around the rocks, shaded by trees starting to change into their fall colors, set such a picturesque scene for us! Aunika has such a soft, sweet personality and it was so easy to talk with her. She took direction really well, and was up for anything - even crossing the river to get to the best spot! I may have slipped at one point and drove home with a very wet sneaker, but at least my camera stayed dry! Enjoy your Senior year Aunika - Hampden Academy, Class of 2027!
