The best call I got last week came from a client I photographed over a year ago.

I photograph people for a living, and walking into a room full of strangers still intimidates me.

Last week I went to a women’s networking event in Roseville. I brought a friend, because everything is easier with a friendly face beside you. And it turned out to be so fun! I met some wonderful women, made real connections, and left with a shoot already in the works.

On the drive home I kept thinking about that first walk through the door. That feeling, standing at the edge of the room wondering how you’re coming across, is exactly how most people feel stepping in front of my camera.
It’s why I run sessions the way I do. My goal is to help you feel comfortable so your best self shines through. You bring you. I’ll be the friend in the room. 📸

The thing about photographing toddlers is you just never know what you are going to get.

This little guy had a plan of his own. Running through the park. Flying through the air. Fully in charge of the whole session. He was the center of attention and he knew it.

That is exactly how it should be.

Michelle needed updated headshots so we headed to downtown Roseville, with a kids camp on one end, a construction crew on the other, and strangers walking through the frame.

We worked around all of it.

A good headshot session does not require perfect conditions. It requires knowing how to find good light and the right angle wherever you are.

This week has been filled with a new brand, a new site, new brand photography minis, more headshot minis, and to wrap up this week…

Introducing two brand new mini sessions for kids and I could not be more excited about them.

Personality portrait minis: classic black and white. Real moments. Pure personality captured exactly as they are right now.

Color pop minis: bold backdrops, big smiles, vibrant images full of joy.

Both sessions are Saturday, June 27 in Placer County. Personality minis will be in the morning and color pop minis will be in the afternoon. Five minutes per child, 5 images included, $125. Additional images available to purchase in your gallery.

It is here! 🎉

New website. New brand. Same me, just a fuller picture of what I actually do.

I have been a family photographer in Placer County and Palm Springs for years, and I always will be. Families and seniors are at the heart of this business and that is never changing.

But I have also spent years photographing business owners, entrepreneurs, and professionals who needed to show up confidently online. Brand sessions. Headshots. Corporate work. That part of my business grew quietly alongside the family work, and for too long, my website barely showed any of it. Making it really hard to send my site to potential new clients.

Now it does.

Peggy came to her session nervous. By the time we started taking photos at the first spot, something shifted. The laughter came easier, the stories started flowing, and the camera caught all of it.

That is my favorite part of this work. Watching someone go from “I don’t like having my photo taken” to seeing themselves the way the people who love them already do.

Peggy is a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach based in Davis, helping women make sustainable changes at every stage of life. She needed images that felt as warm and approachable as she actually is. We did a full brand session together and these are a few of the headshot-style images from that day.

That is one of my favorite things about brand sessions. You walk away with a full content library and images that work everywhere, including as a polished headshot.

I think we got there.
