We love, love, love the Smithsonian Gardens as a location for engagement and wedding portraits! No matter what time of year, the setting is absolutely gorgeous. But at the same time, every season offers you a little something different. And perhaps the best part is the Moongate Garden -- a truly unique spot nestled into a corner of the gardens. The reflecting pool there is great for creating one-of-a-kind portraits!
Speaking of cool and creative photo possibilities, very few locations in the DMV offer as many as the National Gallery of Art's East Building. Its modern installations are perfect for giving engagement photos an absolutely unforgettable quality! Our favorite spots include the big blue chicken on the roof, the escalators between the second and third floors, and of course, the trippy Multiverse moving walkway.
Disha and Somu's engagement photoshoot combined these two great locations. We started at the Enid A. Haupt Garden behind the Smithsonian Castle, using the space's lush mid-spring greenery to complement the beauty of the connection between the couple. And then we walked across the National Mall to the NGA, where we created some unique portraits that highlighted the Disha and Somu's fun and playful side.
