i’ve been trying to enjoy taking photos again since making photography my full-time job. an easy way for me has been to ditch my big camera for the smaller canon g7x for a more casual vibe~

i don’t put too much thought into editing them, and i don’t spend much time thinking of what i’m photographing. i see something i like and snap a photo right away.

and there’s just something different about using a camera to document my day. putting this collage together was so much fun (despite also taking up a lot of time lol).

it was really interesting to go back to frequent photoshoot spots of mine for a different purpose other than work. i got to take a slower pace and really appreciate what i was seeing.

i like to be done with my work in an efficient and fast-paced manner, but in my free time, i want to remind myself to slow down more to be present in the moment. 💖

a portrait shoot once in a while is truly necessary.

it’s nice to capture who you are and how you look like in each season of your life. for this client of mine in particular, i’ve met her 4 times now!! and each time, our shoot has carried a different theme.

this time, she wanted to feature some artefacts that she has worked on as a conservator. it’s so special that she gets to be upclose and personal to these pieces of history, and we got to capture these beautiful photographs to encapsulate that.

it was such a different experience shooting in a museum gallery like this. firstly it was really dark and no flash is allowed, so my iso was cranked alllll the way up haha (thank you denoise on adobe lightroom!) secondly, reflective glass was all over and we had to pick our angles very carefully to do these beautiful pieces of art justice.

i love meeting different people and helping to tell a part of their personal story through photos. this is a particularly memorable one 😍

a lot of love for this location lately~ 💓 already 5 visits in the last 3 months, and for very good reason.

also i’ve been so mia on socials because of my birthday minis, which took up 80% of my mind and hence i couldn’t spare time to do anything else.

going from posting everyday in 2020/2021 to barely managing one post last month has been a real trip. i used to never understand how people went so long without a post on their work accounts and now i get it more than ever oop 👀

being a freelancer and your own boss requires so much discipline and efficiency - more than you’d ever expect. i think i’ve done pretty well so far for someone who’s just been “winging it”, but if anything, my post frequency is an indicator that i still have much room for improvement (lol).

well, always a good thing to have potential for growth. we’re always looking onwards and looking to do better 😌 welcoming the second half of 2026 with open arms~
