I am a photographer who specializes in nature, architecture, and night time photography. I capture my subject matter in Nikon raw format which is 24 mega pixels and convert the image to jpeg or bitmap format. I pride myself that I do NOT Photoshop any of my images. Images displayed are available for sale. Sold prints with have the watermark appropriately sized and placed on the print. The watermarks viewed on line are sized and placed to protect my intellectual property.

Pre Rup Temple is one of my personal favourite temples to photograph when nature provides full sunlight. The orange bricks and block work, the blue skies, and the vivid green grass and trees, makes a nice trio of complementary hues.

Ta Keo Temple. Some people have asked, how are you able to photograph temples without crowds in your photos? The answer is, visit the more obscure temples in the cool morning hours and then visit the more popular temples in the afternoon hours when it is roasting hot and humid. Very few tourist can comfortably handle 34C+ temps and 95% humidity. They quickly leave for the comforts of the air con. I personally thrive in those environmental conditions.

Ta Nei Temple was my first ancient temple site to fine tune the methodology of photographing temples in a dense canopied bush; tripod with a long exposure, tripod with a 5 exposure bracket, or underexpose by one exposure when the sky is bright. In my opinion, without a tripod, a majority of the photographic opportunities are impossible or very poor results.

Ta Nei Temple is one of my top five photogenic ancient sites in the Siem Reap vicinity. It just conveys an image of remoteness and untouched.

My ability to do a photo study of the Bayon Temple was limited to the active renovations being performed and the scaffolding. I was limited to photographing the Bayon Temple from the north-west to frame the temple without scaffolding. Also, I used my 600mm wildlife lens to capture detailed images of the large carved faces. The official narrative says this temple is 1000 years old. I absolutely question that since the facial rocks are curved polygonal joins. Copper chisels didn’t carve precise straight edges and curved corners.

Siem Reap photography during the rainy season really brings out the green hues and the lush vegetation. It is my preference. The rainy season also brings out the challenges of the unpredictable rain and when during the day there will be clear skies versus cloudy skies. I had a list of temples and their relative proximity location which ancient sites I wanted to photograph during cloudy conditions versus sunny conditions when the weather conditions quickly changed.

My ability to do a photo study of the South Gate Angkor Thom was limited to the active excavations and renovations being performed. Also, there were a few wedding photography sessions going on while I was there.

I enjoyed walking around in the Phnom Penh CBD to experience the markets and to observe the perceived chaos at the street intersections. Had to be careful keeping your distance at the markets while the meat vendors were chopping fish and chicken. I felt splatter in a few occasions as they chopped. The smell of raw meat in the 36C sun could be over whelming. Scooter/car/Tuk tuk drivers have a much closer tolerance of space and I did observe a few slow speed bumps. Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

I enjoyed walking through the Botumvatey Pagoda every morning before venturing off somewhere in the Phnom Penh CBD. I hoped to capture more Monks in their daily activities within the Pagoda but many of them were walking the streets asking business owners for food related donations. Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
