New wedding on the blog 🔥😮‍💨 This time it’s my gorgeous friend Lysandra and her new hubby, George 🤍

I’ve been lucky enough to capture these two through so many seasons of life over the years, so being there to photograph their wedding day felt incredibly special. Their beautiful celebration on Lysandra’s family farm in Kaikōura was filled with love, laughter, amazing people, and the most stunning scenery!

It was probably one of the hottest, muggiest days of the entire summer, which felt like a miracle considering earlier in the week we were worried about rain and grey skies. Thankfully the weather delivered, and we were absolutely spoiled with the most beautiful locations all day long.

There are so many images in this blog and I’m so proud to have captured these guys over the years and now this incredible chapter too.

Beautiful chaos with the Fraser family 🫶🏻

I’ve been photographing this crew for years now, right back to their wedding, so it’s always so special to catch up and see how their family has grown.

One thing I’ll always encourage during family sessions is for kids to simply be kids. There’s no expectation to sit perfectly still or smile on command. I want them to feel safe, relaxed, trusted, and free to have fun. That’s where the magic happens.

Those genuine in-between moments are often the ones families treasure most. And usually, once everyone has relaxed and settled into the session, we manage to sneak in a few frame-worthy portraits too.

For me, family photography is about capturing people as they really are. The little quirks, the laughter, the chaos, and the connection. The moments that will remind you exactly what this season of life felt like.

And while the Fraser kids are pretty adorable, I think the real star of this session was their new dog, Luna. Every few minutes she'd launch herself into the river, then come charging back to us and shake muddy water absolutely everywhere. We spent most of the session laughing at her and running away

My boys have both been so incredibly lucky to have Sam as their preschool teacher 🥹, and honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a more warm, caring, and genuinely wonderful person to be part of their early years. I knew I really wanted to gift her a session with her beautiful family as my own little way of saying thank you for everything she’s done for our boys.

Honestly, it was such a pleasure capturing these memories for her, and I’m so glad we got the chance to create something special with her two gorgeous family🫶🏻

Okay so I owe you ALL an apology because I have been SO behind on sharing and honestly?? I have no excuse other than the fact that this wedding season completely swept me off my feet in the most beautiful way possible 🥹🎞️

But we are HERE now and I could not be more excited to finally start sharing some of these moments with you, starting with these two gorgeous humans.

Amelia + Matt, where do I even begin. From the very first moment I met you both, I just knew your day was going to be something truly special. And I was right. Your wedding was filled with the most incredible people, the warmest energy, the biggest laughs, and so much love it honestly made my heart want to burst. The walks, the quiet in-between moments, the dancing, the tears, the joy. I was just so honoured to be there soaking it all up behind my lens.

This is exactly why I do what I do. Days like yours remind me how lucky I am to have the best job in the entire world 🥰

There is so much more from this season to come and I genuinely cannot wait to share it all with you. Stay tuned because your feeds are about to be very full and very happy 📸✨

Have you been meaning to organise family photos for ages but just can’t quite get everyone sorted?

This winter I’m opening up a small number of extended family sessions, and they are such a fun way to do it.

Think siblings, nieces and nephews, grandparents, your side, your partner’s side, or everyone all together. We can cover it all. You’ll get a mix of relaxed individual family photos, beautiful images with parents and grandparents, and all those in-between moments of everyone just being together.

The best part is you can split the cost across the group, which makes it a really easy and affordable way to get updated photos for everyone.

I’m only offering five of these sessions across June and July, so if this has been on your list for a while, now is the time.
Shoutout to Biddy and her incredible crew for this one. She pulled it all together and it was honestly such a good time. Watching all the cousins run around together was magic.

We shot this in North Canterbury across two spots just minutes apart and it was the loveliest way to spend an evening.

Amelia and Matt didn’t have a videographer at their wedding, and instead chose to add on some camcorder-style footage that I captured alongside being their photographer.

It’s such a fun little add-on for couples who want those unscripted, nostalgic moments woven into the day. Their full camcorder highlights film was nearly eight minutes long, but here are just a few little snippets that captured the fun of it all.

Little Gwen, their flower girl, was honestly the sweetest and such a big part of the day. She even recorded a little bit of the footage for me, which was so, so cute, including the sweetest moment where she asked the groomsmen to sing a happy song completely off her own back. Of course that had to stay in.

This isn’t to take away from videography at all, but for couples wanting a more relaxed way to document their day, with all those nostalgic little in-between moments, this can be such a special option. It’s something I can capture alongside what I’m already doing, without taking away from the key moments, and instead just preserving them exactly as they felt.

I love the handheld nostalgia of it all. It’s real, a little imperfect, and full of feeling without being overly curated.
