It is important to me to support worthy causes. I recently donated a voucher to the Harcourts Avonhead Team for the Harcourts Grenadier Bid for a Cause Charity Auction Event fundraising for Cancer Society Southern. My voucher was part of a combined hamper which raised $4000 on the night contributing to an overall tally of $135,000.00 far exceeding the goal of $100,000.00. An amazing result to help find cures for this disease which affects far too many.

As well as the NZIPP - the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography Iris Awards and the International Pet Photography Awards, I also entered Australian Photographic Prize APP. I was thrilled to find I received a Silver and 2 Highly Commended in this international competition. The Silver gives me points towards achieving my Associate which is very exciting.

Thank you to the incredible Team behind the Awards - Kris Anderson, Robyn Campbell, Daniel Bingham and all those unsung heros' behind the scenes. Thank you also to all the Judges for their skill, time and commitment that you give into making these Awards truly world class.

The IPPA International Pet Photography Award results for 2026
have been released.. and I am thrilled to recieve 3 Bronzes. I have posted 2 below, I is of a sensitive nature so I won't be posting here.
A million thanks to Craig Turner Bullock and Charlotte Reeves for their tireless efforts making this a World Class competition. For the support crew and judges, a huge thank you to you too.
And most importantly, thank you to Frida, Loretta and dear wee Mack.

Its Award Season.. so there is going to be a lot of Award Images in the coming weeks as I post results from NZIPP - the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography Iris Awards, IPPA International Pet Photography Awards and APP Australian Photographic Prize.

Wow what an incredible week at the NZIPP Iris Awards and NZPhoto Show..have only just been able to catch my breath.

3 Days of incredible judging in the Potrait, Wedding and Newborn Categorys. And providing feedback for the Amateur Awards Photojournalism Category.

2 Days of NZPhotoshow Conference with incredible speakers. Finishing off with our Gala Dinner Award night, a night I will never forget.

I achieved a new level in Honours, Master with Distinction 2 Bars.

Then was awarded to my complete suprise, the Honorary NZIPP Silver Spool Award for services to the NZIPP.

Next was the Curtis Pool Award in honour of Dick Poole and Brian Curtis. I was one of the top 4 entrants invited to toast Dick and Brian. (Canterbury NZIPP region tied with Auckland on points.)

Lastly, I was announced as the Creative Wedding Photographer of the Year.

Thank you to Maia Arielle and Angelo Maggione for bringing my ideas to life.

An amazing time of year when the NZIPP family gets together. So much love, joy and friendship as we catch up our buddies from around NZ and Aussie.
