Stepping a little outside my comfort zone with this one…

Most of you know me for portraits – for capturing people, emotions, and connection. But every now and then, I feel the need to explore something completely different.

And honestly… this one even made me uncomfortable.

I’ve never really liked these birds – there’s something about them that feels a bit eerie (maybe I watched too much Game of Thrones 😅). But that discomfort is exactly what drew me in. I wanted to create something moody, dramatic, and slightly unsettling.

Because growth doesn’t happen in the familiar.

I’m incredibly grateful that this image resonated with others too: ✨ Silver Medal at IPF Northern Region (Creative Category)
✨ 2nd Place at Dundalk Photographic Society Annual Exhibition

A reminder to myself (and maybe to you too):
You don’t have to stay in one lane. Try something different. You might surprise yourself.

I keep coming back to my old landscapes, Here seascapes photo when I had the freedom to go outside and take my time to photograph landscapes.
I travelled a lot more before my son was born then setting up a few businesses I'm running now. While I'm editing these photos memories keep coming back and however I feel little sad that I haven't been out much I'm still happy I have these memories and even captured (I'd say, beautifully)
This photo was captured when I spent a few days in Barcelona, little outside, I think in Badalona (I might be wrong). I waited for the sunrise, watching people doing beach yoga then they were welcoming the sun. After that I went up to the mountain, without any drop of water 🫣 gosh I still don't remember how did I got back to my accommodation. Yep I was alone, in a place where I never been before, carried a few thousand euro equipment. God I'm just anxious just thinking about it now. Anyway. Here I am, happy to see this image comes through after 10 years of sitting in the external harddrive.

12 years ago I went to Iceland with my first ever camera… bought just weeks before the trip.
And yes… I had absolutely no clue what I was doing 😅 Full JPEG, no RAW, no settings, just vibes.
When I came home, I went to my first photography class (very logical, I know 🙄) and I was so embarrassed I literally hid all my Iceland photos in a folder and never looked at them again.
Until now.
I finally opened that folder… and okay, some of them still made me cringe 😂 BUT I also found a few that I actually love. So I decided to give them a second chance with the knowledge I have today.
I’m definitely not a landscape photographer… and editing waterfalls isn’t exactly my strength either… but I’m learning 💛
Here’s my second re-edited photo from Iceland

A couple of weeks ago, I had the honour of photographing these incredible women.
Last night, I had the privilege of watching them on stage — and wow.
Congratulations on a truly fantastic performance of The Dead. It was powerful, moving, and beautifully delivered from start to finish. Seeing the depth, strength, and talent behind the faces I photographed made the experience even more special.
I feel genuinely honoured to have taken portraits of such talented ladies. What a joy to witness your work come to life on stage. ✨

📸 Distinction Journey – Step One Complete

Yesterday marked a huge milestone in my photography journey. I officially completed the first step of the distinction path and was awarded my Licentiateship with this L-panel.
I’m incredibly proud of the progress so far and grateful for everything I’ve learned along the way.

Now… it’s time to begin preparing for the next challenge:
✨ The A-Panel (Associateship). ✨

Thank you to everyone who has supported and encouraged me throughout this journey especially to More growth, learning, and creativity ahead!

Just to add, I'm really proud of my son Leo, patiently waiting for mammy's pictures go on the wall. He is my true supporter 🥰

Took this photo of my son probably a year or so ago. He would not stand in front of my camera anymore. But hopefully we get there again.
