A vibrant, fiery cluster of deciduous azalea blooms from Castle Howard Arboretum. The scent is absolutely divine, bringing back memories of when I first experienced their fragrance in Greece.

Be responsible and don't trample on delicate flowers. I spotted some Bee Orchids in the fields around

Had to go and see for myself the beautiful poppy fields with Castle Howard in the distance. My big camera might have some better photos ❤️

It was lovely up at Beningbrough today. The gardens are really starting to fill out now — soft colours, fresh growth, and that easy early‑summer feel. I wandered through the walled garden and it just looked so calm and inviting, the sort of place you slow down without even realising.

Enjoy the day :)

Lush greens of the Cow Parsley with the added bonus of a lovely bird song.
Any guesses to which bird?

Muker from a few years ago, I am hoping to go and visit these in the next few weeks.

The Muker hay meadows are now entering their peak season, with the best flowering period running from mid‑May to late June. These fields are part of a nationally important upland hay‑meadow system, protected as both an SSSI and a Special Area of Conservation. The species mix is at its strongest at this time of year, with Wood Crane’s‑bill, Yellow Rattle, Pignut, Lady’s‑mantle and a wide range of meadow grasses in full growth. The flagged path through the fields helps protect the meadows ahead of the traditional July hay cut.
