Baile Hill, York

I took this photo from York's city walls on a rainy afternoon in August. I like photos with matching colours and here the yellow t-shirt matches the road markings which also serve to create a "U" shape composition to lock the viewer's focus inside the frame. The road itself also leads the eye into the composition. I used my Ricoh GR3 to take this photo - it's a great little camera that literally fits in your pocket.

Deans Park, York Minster.

A walk in the grounds of York Minster known as Deans Park on 30th. July 2026.
A small amount of post work with Photoshop was slightly needed as I used my iPhone.
Beautiful light early morning 09:00. The Honey Bee was very close to a number of bee hives within the Minster grounds.

We were on a Macro Photography walk through the gardens and came across all the busy bees. Trying to get a photo of them when they were still was challenging but so worth it!
