I was invited to photograph a recent Breast Cancer Research UK fundraising event by the lovely Gemma [and offered a raffle prize of one of my fun Box Shot sessions]. I honestly love donating my time and resources to such events as we ALL know someone who has had some sort of connection with cancer, and as a community we need to be there to support each other as much as we can.

It was a pink themed evening, naturally, and i really only have one thing that's pink - my flamingo skirt! A very old skirt from ChicWish, but one of those items in your wardrobe that you never want to throw out, just in case you might need it... LOL. Well, I needed it!! BUT it doesn't have ANY pockets!! I mean who designs skirts like this without any pockets!!! This is an iphone screenshot of a video of me swishing, I didn't have an actual photo...

I had put my phone in my bra, as that was the only way I could carry it around as I had my camera in my hands. Rachel, one of my lovely clients, told me I must never do this - I didn't even think it was an issue. Most smartphone manufacturers (including Apple and Samsung) advise keeping devices a minimum distance (usually 5 mm to 15 mm) away from your body. So, from now on, no more iphone in the bra. And for goodness sake skirt designers, give me some pockets!!!!

Loved the function room upstairs at the Flower Cafe Whitley Bay and fab boobie cup cakes by Swans Yard Cakery - I'm just going to share a few pics here as I'm sending them all over to Gemma to hand out to her girls.

Really pleased to be working with Mark Harriott from SWAY at his Macrame workshop being held at the Justine Holdsworth Studio North East on 4th June. I'm going to have to somehow take photos whilst making my own macrame plant pot holders as I need some for my kitchen!! A fantastic morning with H Social Social Media training day at the Whitley Bay Golf Club function room - if you’ve not seen it yet, it’s a really lovely spacious room with plenty of natural light!

Helen invited Jamie from NC Property Finance to tell us how social media has improved connection with their clients, amongst other things. Being as authentic as possible really is the key.

Our meal was prepared by Meet me on the corner - and honestly it was incredible. Lots of fun was had and lots of photographs were taken!! Just going through them now.

For the third year running, I'm volunteering myself to be the resident photographer for the Cullercoats Festival - it's quite a big project to take on board, but the event started in 2024 to bring communities within Cullercoats together. I'm a great believer in helping our community from within - not only is it a great way to meet people, but it's a great way to give back.

We are always on the look out for volunteer photographers to help us out on the day - Saturday 13th June - so if you'd like to practise your photography then please message me!

This week I had the pleasure of photographing local storyteller Martin Manasse, who will be at the festival again this year. Oral storytelling is the oldest method of communication, whether it told stories for fun, truth or myth, it has always been used to entertain and educate people around the world.

Martin will be telling his stories at the festival on Saturday 13th June, so bring the family and listen along... and thank you to Cullercoats Library North Tyneside Community Hubs and Libraries for allowing me to photograph!

The gorgeous Jovi-Jax had his Christening the other weekend at St Albans Church in Earsdon, followed by a beautifully designed and thoughtfully planned out by Hannah (& Gary) with pretty much everything to keep all the children amused at Red House Farm.

I first photographed Hannah and Gary’s family when they were pregnant with Lulla Belle a few years ago. I have to say, it’s still one of my favourite shots as the sky was turning a slight pink, the waters were still and Hannah was wearing a gorgeous pink dress. Sometimes everything just comes together as you imagined it could. The weather was completely different when I photographed Hannah when she was pregnant with Jovi-Jax.

My style is definitely one that captures the events of the day as the unfold organically and authentically. I actually love that as you never quite know what will come next!
